Vet this evening for Millie, who has come down with colic after escaping into the front of her field that’s been resting for a few months. Don’t think they were in there long, but enough for Millie to stuff her face and now regret her choices.
Does seem to be gas related so hoping some buscopan and bute will help. She’s had a rectal aswell, just to check everything is where it should be, and been tubed.

I’ve come home to put my ankle up for an hour, because I’ve been on it all day and also been towed around the stable by a very angry mare (she hates needles!), then heading back to check her.
Typically, my Reolink isn’t up at the moment coz I am swapping to a different one and that’s on charge. Just when you need it ?

Honestly, I’ve just about had enough of life right now!

I'm going to hope for gas emissions quickly so you get a peaceful night - well as peaceful as post colic vet call outs ever are. Fingers crossed she recovers quickly

The vet did also mention that she could feel an enlarged ovary, but didn’t seem too concerned when I said that Millie hadn’t had any recent change of behaviour and that she’s always been a bit of a grump in the stable. Now I’m wondering whether I need to get this investigated?

Hope all OK, vets can work wonders. My retired gelding had compaction colic (no gut sounds, had been in more than normal due to the wet weather few weeks ago) tubed etc and full recovery, went into horspital as happened on a sat night.

Few sleepless weeks once home, checking on him every few hrs through night on camera ...

Any update ?

Thank you, glad your gelding was ok. It’s awful isn’t it? Unfortunately, I am inwardly terrified of colic as I lost one to it back in 2011. As soon as they show any signs of it, even mildly, I act and get the vet instantly.
