Grade A Showjumper £1200?

Seriously think people need to stop over reacting.

I agree.
Whoever it was who called the RSPCA, did you think about it first, or do it on impulse.

I know someone who bought a horse that didn't look dissimilar to this in condition from a very well known SJer who shall remain nameless.

The reason he wanted rid? It wind sucked, as does the one in the advert and he just couldn't be doing with it.
She took him home, gave him time to settle and put a crib collar on him, something previous owner did not do.

How is he now? He looks fantastic and can still jump like a stag.

Maybe this horse just looks as he does because of management issues. Yes, he could probably do with a bit more provin but his condition may not be helped by his wind sucking.

QR Just a wee alarm bell regarding the 'english' in the advert. I don't want to trigger the whole thing off again but the languge, especially the use of 'loverly' is very similar to the adverts a certain dealer and star of watchdog used. Googled horses4uuk but only those 3 adverts came up.

how I first read the adverts I assumed they were being sold from a private home, except the advertiser is trade.
the spelling is almost too poor to be believable.

big alarm bells for me

let the buyer beware!

Oh dear re. the RSPCA. Why?!! Certainly not a RSPCA case, nor is it in "horrendous" condition

The horse has probably completely jacked it jumping, the person brought it cheap as a possible money maker, and now cant afford it/found it is actually worth no more than they paid for it. Not a big deal IMHO. Least they have bothered to take half decent pics, and the horses coats and feet look well, so tbh, leave them with it. Juts hope the poor animal doesnt end up with a complete "dreamer" or muppet.

QR-

Jeez the horse might be thin but it's hardly an RSPCA case. Some people really need to get out more!

I quite like the look of him actually - glad I am nowhere near the vicinity, Lol!!

I cannot believe it has gone this far? RSPCA??? WTF? The poor chap needs a good feed thats all. *sigh* Sometimes this forum is just too much!!!!!

If I were nearer I'd take a chance on the horse.

I doubt very much that he's a grade A sjer with 2k winnings- it's very hard to prove/dis-prove if theyve been imported, seeing as they automaically get given 2k winnings upon landin in this country! But he's still a lot of horse for the money.

His backend must provide huge clues as to why he's so cheap. It's a shame, he looks sweet.

I hope whoever called the RSPCA has now phoned them back and apologised for wasting their time.

We had a windsucker who was a right pain to keep weight on, he had times when he looked much poorer than the horse in the picture. Wonder if I had posted a picture, people would think he was being mistreated/starved.
In my eyes have seen much skinny animals out and about. He probably need more muscle and a bit more condition but wouldn't say he was a rescue case.
There is always a reason when horses are cheap, my well bred Westphalian was cheap, won't go into reason on here but needless to say took nothing away from quality of horse however I think I was lucky to be in the right place at right time. Just trying to say that cheap horses aren't always bad uns

Don't agree the horse looks poor. It's coat is glossy, and it is clearly showing muscle on it's shoulder. However, it has the most hideous conformation - so that doesn't help this rangy horse look good.

If they are stolen though wouldn't it be a bit mad to sell them on a open and popular website???? I agree it is weird but I don't think they are stolen, if so they are the stupidest thieves on the planet!

Totally agree, there are many horses out there that with various problems (box walkers, weavers, windsuckers and medical reasons etc etc) that stop them from putting on weight, you cant force a horse to eat, but you can put them in a better environment to ease the problems and put try and put condition on them

Too many people are quick to jump to conclusions when they don't know the facts, I'm not making excuses for them, yes he looks tucked up and yes you play a tune on those ribs but maybe the horse is good at his job but a difficult keeper...maybe he would fail a vetting, maybe it is a nut case BUT maybe not! this dealer could of picked them up from some sales or selling them quickly because the owner is in financial difficulty...who knows but reporting them to the RSPCA...come on and accusing them of being stolen when there advertising them with pictures, just because there cheap....I think some of you need steady down a little and take chill pill or two, throwing accusations about like that is really not fare.

The coloured on is down to £995....ohhh I wish I had more money!

Why?

The reason many horses end up like this in the first place is becasue people buy them becasue they are cheap...not becasue they are the right horse for them
