Hi everyone
So my horse has got grass mites
. She is hanovarian x, so no feathers and in a field on her own. I am going away for 5 days on Monday so need to make sure i have an effective treatment plan in place from tomorrow for my friend to do, who is looking after her. My horse suffers with sweet itch too, so my friend will be busy!
So this afternoon i used hibiscrub and dried her legs, once they were totally dry i put some lincoln muddy buddy ointment on (this was all i could think of at the time and had this as a just incase, but she never got mud fever last year). She didn't suffer with these last summer, but we have moved yards since and a few horses seem to have the same problem, in different field.
Is this treatment going to be effective enough or is there something else which will work better? If so, i need to get it tomorrow. I also have itch gon lotion for her sweet itch, would this work?
Any advice and treatment plans appreciated, would like to clear this up as soon as possible.
Many thanks
