Tom Beech the osteopathic vet recommended them for a cob and it’s made a big difference so now Ive moved the rest of the gang onto them meaning I have 7 to feed ? im thinking it might be better to bulk buy rather than keep lugging sacks (especially as recovering from both shoulders and neck surgery..) I have rat proof storage!

Got any recommendations and /or prices? I’m Oxfordshire and we have wynnstay , simple systems and mole valley within an hour if that helps?!

I use Emerald Green as they are the lowest sugar and starch. It might be worth contacting them. I know simple systems definitely do grass based stuff, but I know when I looked I dismissed them for some reason, might have been price or ingredients. Worth looking on the website though.

i've used Emerald Green too, they are good to deal with as a company so would probably be able to help as they do sell direct to customers.

Mine are on Dengie grass nuts currently which probably opens up all suppliers tbh, for the teeny amount I feed I am not stressing about a % or so of sugar :p

I use Dengie meadow grass nuts and rate them

As for bulk buying/buying by the pallet I've bought pallets (of bedding) from efeed.co.uk

Their delivery charge was only 13.99 (I'm in Scotland so englandshire probably cheaper yet) and there was a price decrease when you bought over a certain amount. I think it was 10 bags for feed.

Each pallets I got had 22 bales of bedding and they would add my feed order to the top. So worth calling them to ask how many bags they would put on a pallet then do the sums if the discount + delivery is cheaper than buying yourself/elsewhere.

It worked out much cheaper for me and the service from efeed was excellent

I second Efeed
They sell both Northern Crop Driers and Dengie grass pellets singly and deliver on a pallet so you can order as many as you want at a time and also mix with other feed, bedding, etc... A pallet delivered to me in west Wales with 20+ items is £6 and the feed is discounted if you buy more than 40 items at once.
I have used them for many years now and the service is great, loads of choice on the site and you can even select for delivery with a small lorry.

I buy in bulk from Emerald Green- the bags last 2 years and the price comes down a lot as you go up in quantity. My horses love it- I mix grass nuts with alfalfa nuts 50:50

I use Thunderbrook Hay Cobs. I recall my horse not touching the Hay Care from Simple Systems previously and as the hay cobs are so big, one cup goes a long way even though there are probably only about 10 cobs in there! Can double up as treats too! A bag is pricey at about £20 but it lasts me ages.

Emerald green grass nuts i would try. they do pallet bulk and uk delivery. Nice company to deal with. They use tall fescue as their grass - its a grass that grows really long when mature but has lots more fibre than other grasses and the sugar level isnt sky high, like ryegrass.
Their prices compared to simple system are great. I enquired with a few brands about ingredients/agri growing methods, via email a while back and would choose emerald green or northern crop driers for ingredient quality/purity + good price. They both do pallet discounts.

I buy from Mole. I use Dengie alfalfa pellets and Dengie grass nuts. I have a lorry deliver. As long as the order is over £250 net it is free. I feed 8 so a fair amount of feed and I make each lorry up to £250 with shavings or anything else. The £250 can include smaller items so sometimes I add say a pair of boots which can be £50 or so. Anything else we need eg. rails, fence posts also goes on. I have an account and pay when I ring the order through so a bit of discount and also "over 10" prices for each item.
