Greenguard head collar and muzzle

I have just bought a greenguard head collar to go with the greenguard muzzle.Is the extra strap on the head collar supposed to go round the throat?if so,how tight is it supposed to be and how does it work in practice?does anyone have a photo of it fitted ad I don't seem to have any instructions with it.Thanks!

I think it is meant to go round the throat, yes. I didn't like the look of it and took it off, it looked like my horse could strangle himself with it! He hasn't been bothered to try and get his muzzle off though. So haven't noticed it not being there.

I took it off too. Didn't like having any more straps than necessary! It was fine without

Thanks to you both.I had exactly the same thoughts about the throat lash and will be trying the muzzle without it.

Like everyone else has said do not use it. Little advise if the head collar rubs against the side of your horses face, which mine did I went got some nose band fluffys and put them on now its fine, just in case.

I tried it with, didn't like the look of it, but horse still had the thing off.
