I was looking for some advice if possible.
I was wondering whether there were any spplements on the market which could help the muscles repiar after a strain injury/soft tissue injury? My pony is currntly being fed the recommended amount of Top Spec Feed balancer, Speedibeat and Healthy Hooves.
Below is what happened:
My 11.2hh dartmoor slipped on the wet yard on the 1st November and did the splits resulting in a groin and hamstring strain to the right hind leg.
He then had one week's full box rest and a further 3 weeks in his stable save for 2x 30 min periods f exercise. Since then he wa turned back out and I continued to exercise every other day building in more periods of trot. He was starting to look much better (he was sound after 2 weeks of the initial injury but continu to be sore and swinging his right hind out in trot).
However over he last two weeks he has not had much exercise because of not being able to turnout because of the ice on the yard as too dangerous to cross. He has slipped a little when I made an attempt to clear the yard to get him into one of the arenas.
So now h is very stiff again and I am monitoring to see if this is due to lack of appropriate exercise.
