I've just been kicked off my lovely new yard and I'd fuming. And rather upset.
YO is know for being difficult. She's bad tempered, opinionated, extremely unreasonable and has no social skills at all. But where you have an excellent yard with fabulous facilities at a great price, you don't need to be nice - there will always be a queue.
Luckily her staff are lovely and I've seen her a grand total of three times in the last 2months.
Anyways - Piper pony (my lovely 2.5yr old coloured cob) got impaction colic on Saturday from being fed straw (YO decision - I wasn't happy but rocking the boat results in eviction).
I spent all sat night and sun morning up with him having the vet out numerous times.
Sunday afternoon, whilst speaking to vet on the phone, the YO came down. I smiled and nodded to her but was limited to what I could do, with pony in one hand and phone in other. She marched past, seemingly ignoring me (pretty standard from her anyways) and had disappeared by the time I'd finished and went to look for her to tell her what was happening.
Vet then arrived, re-painkillered and rectalled. Still impacted.
By this stage I was so tired I desperately needed to go home, so got friend (fellow livery) to check him once she'd finished riding her horse, then again in 3hrs, whilst I slept. Strict instructions to her and in diary (prescribed method of communicating with YO) that he was NOT TO BE FED ANYTHING AT ALL!!!!!
Hour later I got a frantic call from poor friend saying pony was fine but YO had cornered her. Told her it was cruel not to feed him, he was clearly better as he'd pooed (tiny little poo in his bed from what was already in guts), it was her 'duty of care' to feed him, she'd had horses for years, dontcha know, and she knew best, ignore the vet. Oh, and how dare I 'blank' her.
Poor friend fended her off and told her to call me if she was concerned - she was just following instructions. YO had stormed off. Friend said she'd recheck him in 2hrs esp as she was suspicious.
2hrs later and no call from YO. But friend called again to say she'd just been to check him and Piper was now standing knee deep in hayledge, stuffing his face.
She removed it but had to go home as working.
Furious doesn't even start to cover it
I had to drag myself back out of bed, wait for my mum to drive me to stables (too tired to drive myself) to find pony feeling sorry for himself again. Called vet yet again and this time insisted he was taken into the local Horsepital. Arranged transport and took him in.
Too tired and furious to call the YO to say what was happening (bound to say something stupid) so left note in diary.
4days later ( with poor Toby getting a flying visit for a pat and carrot - no YO in sight) Piper came home, all better.
By this point I'd calmed down about to realise that causing a fuss would only result in me getting kicked off the yard. So put a note in the diary saying he'd come home and otherwise decided to let it blow over.
Forwards to today - YO came to find me and told me she wanted me and my horses off the yard
Wouldn't give me a good reason why. Just that I was 'hassle' When I said I didn't understand what the problem was, she just said 'well, you wouldn't'. Not willing to discuss it.
On pushing she said I'd been badmouthing her (wouldn't tell me what or how - I had been very careful not to say anything at all to anyone to prevent just this happening), that I'd 'blanked' her, that I was 'always causing trouble' (again, wouldn't tell me what or how) and eventually that it was her yard and she just didn't want me there
I have to say I'm gutted. Apparent from the old baggage I love the yard. All the liveries are lovely, the facilities are excellent, the horses are happy.
I can genuinely say Ive been a model livery. Paid promptly, followed all yard rules to the letter, not asked for anything, got on well with all the other liveries.
But apparently YO in well known for going on a power trip and kicking people of who dont agree with her, ask for things or she just plain doesnt like. I am in no way the first to be asked to leave.
I now have a month to find a new yard, in the middle of winter, for two horses who need to live out 24/7.
And I really really hope my poor friend doesnt also get asked to leave too - I have a suspicion she might
