Ahhhhh I am so angry!

My thoroughbred is up for part loan, for unlimited riding because I have a new rescue mare who requires most of my time, and with a back injury I am not risking riding my thoroughbred at the moment because he is fresh as a daisy, he is in a new field with lots of grass and it's sent him loopy, he has had about a month or month and a half off work because I have had so much to do, moving places, friends passing away and family in hospital..

So I had put an advert up for part loan and had explained in the advert that I don't suggest riding at the moment, but if they felt they could control a horse that WILL rear when asked to stand, and jogs alot, with the odd excitable buck when going into canter, then they are welcome too. I suggested starting with lunging to calm him down, and get a bond going, maybe even just grooming to begin with!

I desperately need a sharer for him because hes getting very bored, pacing his field, and hes an ex-racer, although he doesn't have a ''typical'' ex-racer attitude, he definately needs to let off some steam!
I have had loads of people contact me now, and I ALWAYS say to them, you are aware that he is not an easy ride at the moment and does rear through impatience, etc etc'' aren't you?, and I get a reply off ''Maybe he is not the right horse for me'', or ''Oh I see, not really what I am looking for''

And whats worse is, I have stated that noone can ride or even come near my horse without the appropriate insurance, yet ive had a few people say ''I dont have insurance but im sure we could come to some sort of agreement''

?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! If you were going to consider riding someone elses horse, would you not read first to check that aforementioned horse isn't likely to kill you?!?! Even more so, wouldnt you want to be insured before doing so?!?!

Im so angry! My poor boy just needs someone to love him and get him moving, not wannabes that think they can handle him, then when realisation hits that hes a handful and more than they can deal with, they timewaste!

Ugh people can be twits can't they :) I've just sold my little new forest to a lovely home but had some right idiots before that. Worst one was, in ponies ad it says not a novice ride as very green and spooky in the school but perfect hack, needs experienced home etc.... On phone to lady explained pony is v spooky in the school, v forward going and can buck, she's like yes fine daughters a great little rider so nor worried by all that (realise I've made him sound horrendous haha he is perfect to hack and lovely to handle!) child turns up with dad who asks if pony is suitable for beginners as child has only had 2 lessons!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say I didn't let them near pony!!

I think it is quite hard to find rider only insurance if you are paying money to ride. most policies (BHS included) class that as a business arrangement (or something similar) so you wouldnt be covered. I had trouble when i was looking for insurance for riding my share horse. In the end the owner contacted her insurance company and confirmed that i would be insured on her policy and we did it that way.

Don't worry about the people reading adverts, the ones writing are just as bad!! Text speak is not helpful and learning to spell are the least of your worries when selling a horse. Making sure the pictures shows a horse correctly tacked up and the rider wearing a hat make a much better impression. Telling me a horse is "well bread" is one of my pet hates, hovis or warburtons!? Thats before you get there to ride something that suddenly shows every sign of being a habitual napper/rearer/bucker etc and being told "he's never done that before".

I admire you for your honesty, you may find bold type and short sentences useful? Maybe compare your ad to others and see if you have missed a trick in your wording? I will be in the same situation soon with my ex-racer mare but I think I will make out what a good competition horse she is because not everyone gets the abbreviations!

I think the BHS offer rider insurance as part of their membership, as does petplan and NFU after a quick google search so that doesn't look too hard to achieve.
