OH and I feel it's time to think about a new GSD pup, aiming for spring 2014 or spring 2015.
The main requirement is temperament. We want a dog that's suitable for a family, with young children and of course appreciate that socialisation and training are key but we want a breeder who breeds primarily for temperament. We would expect any responsible breeder to have hip scores, haemophilia testing and at least views on degenerative myelopathy (I don't know if I am 100% convinced myself by the new DNA test).
The lady who bred Dizzy no longer breeds GSDs and we are not in France so I am not sure I want to put the puppy through the stress of moving countries, although it is always an option.
However, before we look in the UK does anyone know of any breeders in France? I have spoken with my vets and dog trainer but there is a tendency to breed protection dogs in France which is not what we want.
Also can anyone help by looking over pedigrees of potential parents and letting me know what you think? I don't really know the GSD lines!
Many thanks!
