Guinness?!

I used to work with hunters ( many years ago!) and they always had a can of guiness in their feed after a long day. Don't know if it did them any good but they seemed to like it.

i've got 4 cans for ours tomorrow! going to mix it with their fast fibre! they've not had it before! and 2 of them are under 18, so I hope I don't get in trouble for letting minors drink! hehe

Well ALL the others are of age - but they say Guinness is good for growing bones, don't they :o He's had his cans for the last three years and hasn't staggered once :D:D:D

yep apple bobbing for starter then guinness dinner!

i stopped in asda and bought new buckets for the apple bobbing session hehe!

will be interesting to see my old girl do it as I've never tried it with her before! but the baby loves it!

Ok, so my dad has bought gypsy a can of Guinness for Christmas  can he have it? I know some people do. And how would you actually give it them?

:)

I remember a horse at Stag Lodge who loved Guinness as soon as you opened it and put it towards him he would open his bottom lip and you put the can in it and tip it upside down like a human and he drank it all, then some one else did it not knowing he had one can and a rider got on him walked up the yard and Guinness fell in the muck heap was funny horse fine rider fine.

What about other types of alcohol?

I ask because (don't kill me) a few years ago when I was young and irresponsible and rather drunk I let my Horse have a few sips of Rose wine and a small glass of vk ice at a stay away show. Next day he jumped the BEST round of his life and won the biggest class of the show :p

Please don't kill me for the irresponsibleness of not checking if it wouldn't kill him, it was a few years ago when I was younger and more stupid and being worse for wear I thought it was funny that he tried to drink it and let him...doesn't seem to have done him any harm and it's all he's had to drink in the last 3 years lol.

We got engaged on Christmas Day not so long ago, and hubbie rode my then horse round to the house with the ring tied round his neck with tinsel dressed as Santa :D

Anyways, we had two bottles of champers, and when the first one was opened and spilled, my lovely horse went nuts for it, so we gave him some in a dog bowl, and he LOVED it !! Then the three of us staggered round to the pub for a drink - unfortunately horsey deposited a large poo right outside the restaurant entrance so we had to make a very quick drunken exit on hooves. :D

In short, yes, I can vouch for horses liking a tipple of Dom Perignon.

Mine are getting some got 2 cans between 2 big boys & a Shetland - daughter always wants to give our Shetland a whole can - dont think that is good idea so she just has a little bit - they have some every Christmas :)

Ours always get a can at Christmas and New Year - my sister's cob likes it straight but the two youngsters prefere it mixed in with a little chaff.
