so just heard today that HGV tests are stopping for the lockdown. Due to the massive backlog from the last lockdown, mine wasnt booked until the 26th Nov. Now waiting to see when i can get booked back in again.
Lorry arriving on the the 20th Nov, luckily my dad has grandfather rights to drive it until i pass, and i have car and trailer to keep me mobile when my dad and i have clashes in the diary.

im sorry to hear that. i doubt mine will be until Jan now, i was half tempted to go neighbouring towns/cities to look for other places that has good availability, but of course at a disadvantage as i dont know the roads as well.

My instructor explained that the DVSA has cancelled them, so the places will be filled in the order they were due to take place. Think everyone will be in same boat, don’t disadvantage yourself by moving. Just sit tight.

so frustrating - I’ve been waiting to do mine since March. Driving instructors weren’t working, then they were and I couldn’t get a place until now and bugger me it’s cancelled.

everything has been against us this year (first world problems)

Put L plates on lorry come 20th to practice with Dad supervising - let insurer know
If you can load it with ballast then great but if not do not worry as all practice is good

i didn't think you could go out with L plates unless the person you were with had done the test - is that not the case? I never practiced with OH who has grandfather rights as I didn't think it was permitted.

Anyway, sorry you guys have been delayed again. my lorry is still off the road as we couldn't get a slot to get it plated! urghhhhh
