Hacking with others... am i right to be upset?

Your case is different because you were riding someone else's horse in training. I don't think OP's boss is going to 'have her' for doing what she felt best for her horse. The issue here is that clearly the people she was hacking with were very irresponsible. Having been in the same situation when leading my yearling out in company and our lead horse bombing off 'for a blast' with no warning on my yearling's first trip off of the yard, I can sympathise.

Hang on a minute I'm dyslexic why do u have to have a dig about my spelling? I live in northern ireland not like that's relevant how's your post about mount or dismount going?

i agree in some way but even doe they not y horses i ride. does it not give me greater resposibility to bring the hores home safe and sound if you do nut know race horses are worth a lot of money. and if she was doing what she feelt was best for her horse she should have been informed on there plans i have never ridden out with any1 without knowing therer plans and yes i have ownd my own horse

if this is ait at my spelling go get stuffed im german id like to see u try to understand and have conversations in a differend language

I do that every day. Good you've managed to pick up on English text speak and profanities so quickly though...

Interesting how your spelling is bad (and now deteriorating) because you're German, and Katiesdolphins spelling is so bad because she's dyslexic  :D

Ho hum.

I'm sorry but they are and there's no need for it!

Please don't try to turn this into an 'I'm being bullied because...' post - you've expressed your opinion and for the most part people have disagreed with you, that's what a public forum is all about...you & 'Gabore' are entitled to your opinion but people don't have to agree...

Interesting. My friend has her amateur licence & obviously works in racing. When she comes home & rides her 14.2hh Heinz 57 childhood pony (saved off the meat mans ramp as youngster), sometimes she has to get off to get her to pass things as she refuses to beat her past. Pony genuinely scared, but when sees mum by her side summons up her courage to go with her. Don't think she's taught her too many bad habits, both got to advanced level endurance before friend went off to racing. Bottom line is it's what works with the horse, whatever kind of yard they are at, how well the rider spells, how limited their grammer (both of which I still need to improve ) or indeed whether English is their first language.

As you've found in your forum about mount or dismount? I don't see why you had to have ago at my spelling! Your bang out of order!

Eh?! Some people agree, some disagree, I don't understand what you're getting at...?

Actually read my reply above 'nothing to do with spelling' though this was in reply to 'Gabore' and not you...

I think you're confusing me with another poster...

1lucie, after reading your post i was reminded of a similar situation i have faced myself, you are well within your rights to be angry as those who accompanied you on your hack put you in unnecessary danger through their actions. Personally i would have remained in the saddle (unless forced out :D) as i believe you have more power and control on board rather than on the ground. while i understand i as not there to witness the event itself and my statement is merely an opinion, through my own experience i have discovered that dismounting in such a situation can lead to continued misbehavior, bad habits and can also increase your risk should the horse over power you at ground level. Again i wish to stress that this is merely my own opinion, i hope you find it useful, all the best and happy riding! :o

on a side note,
to those of you whom have turned this forum into a battle ground you should be ashamed. The whole idea of forums such as these is to get a second opinion from others who may have faced a similar issue and instead you have turned this into an attack on people of same/similar interests. this should be a place of discussion and bonding over a common interest not a war zone. Clearly you are helping with 1lucie's issue by arguing over people's grammar and places of origin. I am sure this post will receive criticism for my opinion (either in terms or what i believe in relation to the topic or in terms of what i believe has occurred in this forum), however you can all be assured that i am not interested in an argument i am merely expressing my opinion. this will be my only post, unless i am responded to by the forum creator.

happy riding all...........and arguing :D

In my experience, Germans' are usually beautifully fluent in English, as it's normally taught from an early age in school, along with their other subjects.

Welcome to the forum:)

Yes, that was my thought. There is a world of difference between a non native speaker's mistakes in grammar and a native speaker.
Its also rather telling when lots of new people arrive to support a new poster on a particular thread.

FWIW. Dismounting from a spooky/excited horse does not teach it bad habits in itself. Ensuring the horse has a positive experience shows leadership regardless of whether the rider is on the ground or in the saddle.
Sometimes acknowledging the horse can't cope and the rider can help it through a tough situation safely by diffusing the problem pays dividends in the long term. There's never a black and white rule for anything, being able to read the situation and respond appropriately is better.

Its not right to keep picking at this person its becoming beyond a joke! They're just jelaous your obviously very talented to speek such good english and have to pick at small things!

Perhaps you'd like to get your point across in German and I'll translate for you ?

i can get my point acros in english fine i dont need u to translate for me. aber wenn es sein muss dann kannst du das gerne haben. woher kannst du deutch? und ich glaube jeder hir versteht mich gut auf englich. vielen dank der nachfrage

im actualy conteplating reporting u for that. how can u call me a troll when i have not done anything to offend any1 on here

Calm down Gabore, newbies are often met with distrust (I include myself in that), especially when they join in late in a heated debate.

Just enjoy the forum - and go with the flow...............

Gabore - read your reply to the original post & then read katiedolphins, I'm sure you will understand why people think you are one and the same and that is why you have been accused of being a troll
