Hands up if you haven't rugged your horse!

No rugs here. Been out all day in pouring rain but it's not really cold with it. They will be in overnight as usual so do get a break from it. They are TB's, arab's Anglo's and part breds. Brood mares yearling and 6 week old foal. They're all wet but fine.
 
18 year old Welsh x Warmblood out 24/7 unrugged and 16 year old Fell only has her fly rug (if she didn't have sweet itch she'd be nekkid too!). The 18yo is being far too lively at the moment so deserves to suffer a bit ;) :p
 
My youngster is naked - he has lots of natural shelter (and a man-made one too) should he ever choose to use them (and he doesn't!). I like them to use some of the calories they consume all day eating to keep warm so they don't turn into fatties when the grass comes through.
 
My tb is out naked 24/7, it's not really cold and he seems to have worked out that if he stands under one of the many trees in his field he won't get wet...
 
Mine's naked too and probably shivering right now in the relentless rain but it will do her good until 7pm tonight when I go and check her. Truth be told she was in a lightweight but as I went and checked her this morning (read that as ran round the field after her trying to feel the inside of her rug! :rolleyes: ) it was soaked through so thought, better to whip it off than leave a wet rug on a wet horse. The look she gave me was priceless, if only looks could kill! I then got mugged round the field whilst poo picking as if to say, "you've forgotten to put my other rug on" :D
 
My tb and nf are both out unrugged. The tb does have a rug on if its forecast heavy rain but for showers she is naked.
I did have to relent and rug my fatty nf on friday for the 1st time in 4 years as he was soaked to the skin and shivering so much i was worried about him.

We are just south of Aberystwyth tho and we did get it quite bad on Friday!
 
South of Guildford, sat at work in an oak barn overlooking the chantries and watching the rain drive across the fields. Feel rather mean as she really hates the rain and lives out 24/7, unfortunately the direction of the wind means she has no shelter but as you say it is 12 degrees. I don't finish work until 7 but will pop up then and borrow a friends stable if needed but sure she will be perfectly warm (keep telling myself that ;) )

Not a million miles away from me then! :D I've just let the dog out (am off work looking after poorly toddler) and it's warm enough for me to stand on the patio in just a vest top...and I'm a real heat-lover, so it can't be that bad :)

Ella19 & Pookie, you are not more than a few stones throw from me :)

Big Fuzzy & Tiny Fuzzy have no rugs on - TF does not possess any :eek:
Both happily been spotted grazing by my passing neighbours during the day (am getting texts at work:D).
Lovely livery has reported that neither has shivered their way though a fence - tho they were gawping for tea when she fed Giant Fuzzy.

So, 2 nekkid Fuzzies, neither shivering, both going to stay nekkid for a bit longer. They DO have a shelter to use if they wish tho :cool: (and BF was in there last night - left proof of scrubbed tail hair on the back kick boards :rolleyes::D )
 
Mine has a rug :P Poor little love, checked him at lunch time as he hadn't had a rug all night or through the morning and he was stood there shivering and dripping with rain so he now has a nice snuggly one on :o

He isn't your typical NF as he has been rugged quite carefully throughout the year and so when it rains or has a temperature drop, he has a rug :) xxx
 
All 4 out 24/7 naked. Ages range from 4 to 22. Just been up and poo picked, not one seemed at all bothered, even the oldie who doesn't "do" rain. It is warm though, and he is the only one I would have dried off and put a lightweight on if he'd looked miserable.
 
Just got back from seeing mine. She is naked and is shivering but seems happy enough and has a decent field shelter to go into if she chooses. I was considering putting a muzzle on her as her waistline had expanded so shivering is probably the lesser of two evils!

Edited for a second time to say that Theresa W's horse's markings are very similar to mine! And my name is Teresa! (although I always get called Terri)

Lol, the black tail on a mare is a godsend if your mare is anything like mine when in season. Dolly looks more like a bay today though. She loves mud! :D
 
Another heartless owner here. Mine has been out in her special 'Weight Watchers' paddock all day in the pouring rain, butt naked:D
I think she'd cook in a rug, as it's quite mild here. She is stabled overnight though.
