I have a black horse who looks good but needs a bit more weight and muscle and a better coat for a show in January. Has anyone got any serious tips to help me, show secrets very welcome
thanks
I haven't used what others have suggested for weight gain but this is what I feed my horse, decent adlib Hay and she has 2 feeds a day of a level stubbs scoop of Hi Fi Lite and 1/4 - 1/2 (depending on work load that day) of Dodson and Horrell Build up Conditioning Cubes and about 1 small scoop of speedibeet (Quite wet) she is also turned out on pretty good winter grazing from about 6.30 -4pm everyday and for coat shine, I brush her everyday![]()
I feed mine copra, soaked oats, linseed meal, grass nuts.
I'm sorry I don't understand the rationale behind feeding Hi-Fi Lite with conditioning cubes. Surely a 'full-fat' chaff would be more effective.
This! Mine has 3 feeds a day of chaff, Outshine, Bailey's No4 and sugarbeet plus the Myoplast supplement - varied feedback on the Myoplast but I reckon it's made a difference. The Outshine gives them an amazing coat.Baileys outshine it really does make your horse shine!
