Anyone else got lovely clean horses again??!!

Roll on proper summer :D

I have/had a lovely clean horse. He had his first bath in quite a while yesterday in the sunshine. I then turned him out while he dried off where he proceeded to roll about 5 times. But at least he was really clean for about 10 minutes, that's progress :)

Yep! I did my mare yesterday- I got her in from the field and she was all fluffy and her winter coat is really starting to come out now

We bathed yesterday, my daughter spent ages making her pony gleem... Turned him back out, he walked 5 steps away and rolled :( lol

Yikes!!! Have been bathing, hot clothing etc all winter long, think its a bit grim when they are rugged all the time and never cleaned down to the skin.

Different if they live out or are un rugged obv.

Mine live out so I am reluctant to bath fully yet as it is still a bit chilly at night. Blaze's beautiful thick wavy tail could so do with a good wash! It is scurfy, sticky with mare ick and smells. If it's warm tomorrow I might go for it :D

Yep - did them both as we had a show today. Wonderful feeling to be able to get all that old muck and scurf out and then leave to dry in the sunshine... bliss!

I used to try and fit a bath at least once a year but now the old arthritis has kicked in - I can't get up out of one if I ever managed to get down in it! Showers for me.

Used to be in two minds about supamare when she was here - being grey ( and beautifully dappled when we first got together ) she did scrub up well but I never gave her a full do till "after May be out" and even then used to cart me tea urn up the yard to boil some water up to take the chill off for her.

Pound to a penny - she lay in her own poo the same night!

Attempted to re-whiten the tail this morning!

Daz powder is brilliant for this! i was recommended it and my mares tail has never been so white... a small scoop of it in a bucket of warm/hot water, swish it around (a bit like a washing machine would do) and its like magic! incredible stuff x

I did the small itchy pony a couple of weeks ago on a singularly sunny day, glad I did!

I did the haffy's mane and tail as I didn't fancy braving the grumps that day (ran out of warm water!) and she went and filthed it immediately with great clods of mud. She looks best when I don't subject her to spa treatments which is kind of a shame as I love giving horses baths!

Was such a lovely warm day yesterday so took full advantage and bathed Bud ready for the yard move today.

Thankfully he didn't go and roll afterwards as he was too interested in eating the apparent green stuff in his field.

Bathed the shetland a fortnight ago - indoors with warm water cos she was just so scurfy. Other two had their legs washed with skin so soft cos I was fed up with the mug bobbles hanging off their feathers!

We did legs on Saturday :) Mr Hosepipe-phobe was very well behaved, so I opted not to push it by doing the whole pony :D Legs were getting desperate though...
