Week after next when they stop staying out 24 x 7. I try to give them a few weeks of no rugs and getting a really hairy coat.

Will be a relief to get the coat out as I have to do very light work in the evenings to avoid them getting too sweaty to avoid a chill at the moment.

I clipped mine about four weeks ago for the first time, but not much came off. He had grown through about half an inch by yesterday and was getting very hot when I schooled him, so I clipped him again yesterday!

I think it depends on the individual horse, how much coat he has grown, what work you are doing with him and whether he is in or out!

I'm clipping end of the month... and the horse has never been clipped before...wish me luck lol...

Mine was clipped last weekend. Was going to go for hunter, but opted for a high blanket clip.
She's a sensitive soul though, so we gave her some sedative so we could do under her stomach. Supposed it's like tickling under her armpits - she wouldn't stay still.
Bless. Looks smart now though!

yes ive opted for a blanket clip as my poor boy has a sensitive back, was going for a hunter but decided to keep his back warm !!
