Has anyone done a comparison between branded and feedstore feeds?

I normally feed topspec but with 3 the bill adds up quickly. I was looking at the Mole website yesterday was struck by how much cheaper some of there feeds were, £8 compared to £23.
I know the nutritional information will be on the bag so I wondered if anyone had done a comparison ?
If not, I will but hopeful of an easy answer :)

I normally order my feed to be delivered but forgot once last winter so had to go to a (different) local feed shop to pick some up. They didn't stock the Spillers high fibre cubes I normally buy and the sales assistant suggested I bought their very cheapest pony cubes instead It was a brand I'd never heard of. I was very wary thinking they'd be full of sugar but when I read the nutritional information, they were actually lower in sugar and had a more comprehensive list of ingredients than Spillers (as in they mentioned every ingredient whereas Spillers were quite vague not that they necessarily had more ingredients). The feed shop that delivers doesn't stock them or I'd be buying them all the time.

Mars (Spillers) is a massive feed mill and make a lot of unbranded - Mole Valley being one of them.
For me it’s vital that the food is NOPS and Mole Valley feed is. I switched everything this year as it’s a lot more cost effective for having 3 sport horses.
I haven’t managed to do a complete comparison but having fed Spillers for a while then it’s pretty similar looking.

sometimes the micronutrients are different. the DE etc is often pretty similar on nuts or mixes but you sometimes find that the own brand doesn't include stuff like prebiotics etc.

i feed pegasus nuts to some of mine on an ad-hoc basis. the spillers equivalent have better spec vits and mins and include barley whereas the pegasus have NIS.
