Rode Jake yesterday for the first time after his body work session and he felt amazing light, flexible and off the leg.
And then today he came in dog lame from the field on his off fore. No swelling really, no major heat but mild pain reaction (blinking but not snapping leg away) to pressure on his superficial flexor tendon. And a prominent check ligament (I think that's the name, can't quite remember) where he is standing on his toe. Feel so sorry for him.
Cold hosing, ice boot, bandaging, bute and box rest until Tues, if no better at all then vet on Wednesday. She's coming to scan the leg on another horse on the yard so fits in ok.
I am just so gutted, not only do I feel like an incredibly bad mum, it's just such a shame because we were really getting somewhere and had qualified for the mini sunshine tour in two classes in Sept.
AND TO TOP IT ALL.. I had a look ad his saddle is bridging slightly, and the panels on the back aren't quite large enough for how big and wide he had become to distribute the weight evenly enough which I think is making him a little tight through the bottom of his back. I only had it fitted 3 weeks ago.
Healing vibes please!!
