Missing Bunnydog's regular posting and just wondering if anyone was in touch with her in RL and if she's doing ok?

I know that she updated after her accident so hoping that she is still ok and recovering well.

Glad she's ok :) it's just unusual to go so long without and HHO update so wanted to check all was well in her world with her handsome horses

This is so funny the timing of this.

I am fine!!!! Cudo is sassy as ever. Our "canter" the other night was an exercise in testing how good my winter arm strength was. Answer: NOT that good.

Here are some recent riding pics. Very boring... but applicable.

Hey @TPO. One thing I thought of that might be useful to all who see this.

If you type the @ symbol and then without adding a space start typing a user's name... it will tag them in a post. Same as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter. And for me and I imagine many of you as well, it sends me an email telling me that someone has tagged me in a post.

So if you had tagged me in your first post I would have come over and said hi since I would have seen the tag. Hope this tip is helpful!!!

Sounds very useful, but I wonder about for how long my brain will decide to remember this tips? I'm guessing on up until 1 week before I actually want to tag someone.

Admittedly I am on Facebook a lot so it's programmed into my brain to type @ when I want to tag someone.

You could always stand up and say aloud... "To tag someone on the forum I type @ and then their name without a space"

There's a lot of science that has proven that SAYING something aloud while standing and ideally looking in a mirror, changes how well you retain a memory. The basis of the idea is that when you hear something it's stored differently than just thinking that you need to remember something. And that seeing yourself and saying something to remember then ultimately stores the thought in 3 places; where you store things you think to do, where you store things you hear and where you store things you see. It's all in your brain but the brain is highly compartmentalized.

And yes this is how I recall courses :) Stand in front of a mirror, usually in the bathroom and say the course over and over.

Ermm sorry but tags don't work here at all. No one gets a notification if you use them. All they do is link the user if you hover over them.

Odd.... I just looked and I get notifications when someone mentions me in a message.

Goto your account (click on your screen name next to your inbox and alerts. Upper right side of page)

Then choose "Preferences" under settings

Look at your "Alert preferences"

It's the 3rd one down.

See pic attached.

@BunnyDog

we've experimented it a fair bit doing test tags for various people when it first became a feature, so mostly a long time ago but I also tested it with directorfury recently who is an IT geek.
The default is for them all to be ticked, doesn't ever seem to make a difference and admin have not said they should work (it was an admin post we were having the latest conversation on)

On my emails it shows what was posted and by default that someone has tagged me.

Maybe I was confusing the two but I do get a number of alerts/emails from posts on here.

(I am very amused that the person giving computer advice shared a 'screenshot' that's an actual photograph of the screen :D Meant in the nicest possible way - I know text doesn't always convey the warmth of intent!) x

do you have the email notifications boxes ticked in the section above alerts? maybe that's what it was from. The only emails I have selected are when I get a PM.

@Nevin's Run You may not know this but for reasons I don't begin to fully understand, the H&H forum ability to post a picture requires pics under a certain size. The screen shots from this laptop, even when edited and reduced down to 600 pixels across are not accepted by the forum. Likewise it also wouldn't allow me to just download that pic from my phone and use it as is. SO....what I had to do to share that one NON- screenshot, cell phone pic to all of you was to send it through FB messenger to myself, then download it to this laptop. Then open it in paint and reduce the resolution down as far as I could.

So while it looks like I did next to nothing to get a pic up, I promise I was trying to share what I was seeing in the easiest possible way, and it wasn't easy. But it's still worth the work to allow folks to see what I was saying and seeing.

@milliepops

Yep. I have all the boxes checked and I get emails for everything. But that's intentional so I can keep track of what's been said on posts I am following.

I'd like to test this to figure out what's going on if you don't mind?
Can you please make a post below this just tagging me but without quoting me? I've turned on all email prefs so we'll see if that works :).

That didn't work :confused:. Much oddness, I'm going to go and start a thread in the feedback bit of the forum and talk to myself while I figure it out!
I also did send an email to the forum people and explained the question.

They have replied to me in the past.
