Has anyone heard of the YouTuber call this esme

I found this thread when I was trying to find her channel . I like her and I like her videos she does come across as bit unrealistic but that’s what keeps her channel going. She has a massive income more money than the average job would give you and get loads of things for free like hard feed and haylage and tack because the company’s wants to work with her. A lot of people would say it a bit of kick to the teeth for professional riders since they don’t get any of that.

It's not comparable to professional riders so I don't see how it could be a kick in the teeth. A Youtube vlogger is a completely different career so it's comparing two different jobs. Also, most Youtubers I watch are very open about the sponsorships and partnerships they have.

Never heard of her, but I know really random rubbish can take off on You Tube. My kids like watching millionaire You Tuber kids messing around pretending dinosaurs are chasing them or simply unboxing toys. So weird, but hey if they can make loads of money from it, brilliant! Id support my kids fully if they wanted to try this route, very few make it big but hey no harm trying.

I have come across her on you tube .
I am far too old for the audience she is aiming at but from I remember it’s a nice cheery stuff aimed a children and teenagers .
I don’t see how it’s a kick in the teeth for anyone she made the effort anyone could do if they chose .

Her main audience has a very large overlap with readers of Pony magazine - young girls and pre/early teens who probably don’t have their own pony but really wish they did and have to make do with riding school lessons if they’re lucky. From a marketer’s point of view she’s a perfect blend of relatable but aspirational for that audience so I’m not surprised that her channel’s taken off. It takes a lot of work though and it’s unlikely to be a long term career - I’m surprised at some of the bitterness/envy displayed in some posts on this thread. If you don’t like what she does, no one’s forcing you to watch it…

I am in the minority here as I am not her biggest fan. I don't think there is an awful lot of riding in her videos, other influencers do a better job of it but then Esme aims herself at pony mad kids to buy her merch and her matchy matchy obsession was too much for me I had to unsubscribe. Mickey is very cute though.

Her dad does all her filming I believe and he is really talented.

On this note, something that generally puts me off of Youtubers as soon as they get big are all of the paid partnerships/free stuff/haul type videos. It's all way too consumer-y for my liking, but Youtubers actually make very little money from views and most of it from sponsorships or selling merchandise, so I understand why their channels take this turn in order for them to make a living.

It's also worth remembering (for people saying that anyone can do it) that there is always an element of privilege when it comes to successful Youtubers having the means to become successful in the first place. Esme would not be able to create a lot of her content if she didn't have her own private yard and her own horses. She is only in her early 20s so obviously her parents own the land/stable block.

I think that her videos are well edited and she clearly puts a lot of effort into making her content. She's also very pretty and confident when talking to the camera. I don't religiously watch her videos but good on her for becoming successful at what she does at such a young age.

I do prefer channels like Emma Massingale, as they aren't so 'stuff' orientated. Touring around a luxury Horsebox worth like 100k isn't really relatable to me, for example.

I’ve heard of her and randomly had her suggested on YouTube before, but can’t say I watch her!
However I do remember the ‘old’ days of horse YouTube- where everyone made 2 minute videos on windows movie maker with lots of flashing effects and ‘remixed’ music. It certainly wasn’t professional and nobody made money out of it but I used to love watching everyone’s ‘journey’ with their horses. Still have lots of those people on social media now! (This was about 10,12 years ago!) Interesting how YouTube is now seen as an actual career option! (I’m not necessarily knocking it, just interesting to see how much it’s changed!)
I remember too....I made loads of those videos...stayed up till the early hours making mine...today they are done in minutes..lol...!!
