so who/what have you ridden?

I never rode her horses, but Gemma Paternoster (Young rider gold medalist SJer) used to be at my yard and she thought Lacey was something special.

If that counts xD. I gave her best horse, O'sirus a cuddle. xD

i once got lessons off marietta foxpitt on one of williams horses... grey for hickstead pony club

but got kicked in field and couldnt compete

thats my only claim to fame i nearly went to hickstead hahahaha

Rivaal...jumped Nation's Cup's for IRE all this yr and won several International Grand Prixs.

Conduct...Jumped nation's cups for IRE, won numerous national and international grand prix and speed and jump off classes

Drumogoland's Flight who has won many national grand prixs and several international speeds...a bit of a hero on the SJ circuit here he's a real trooper and a gentleman!

Ridden a rake of other national grand prix horses and a good few other international horses and ponies over the years. ridden them at home or warming up at shows when jockey is under pressure with a few of them in the class. also hacked conduct and flight on the beach...

ETS: I also rode Out Of Touch, James Kernan's superb stallion....warmed him up at the show that actually ended up being his last ever show as he was injured and retired to stud!

I used to work at a RS that had taken on an ex point to pointer who was apparently sold for £100,000 at the peak of her success so I guess she was famous but I've no idea what her registered name was. She came to us as Millie but I doubt that's what she raced as. Sadly they took her on as a rescue case. The people that owned her were using her as a broodmare and had gone brankrupt. She and her foal came in a sorry state but went on to become excellent RS horses.

I have ridden a POYS winner (could have been HOYS...have no idea)

Also know a horse who has gone to some very famous SJ'ers daughter (he's so famous i dont know his name

A couple of semi-famous horses i guess.

The first was poppy, she was ridden by Ruby Wax in 'Only fools on horses'. Rode her quite a few times before her old owner sold her to go to university....:(

The second is one of my trainers horses, called Afrika, top sjer that was second in the 7 year old young horse finals last year.

No but I beat one but cant remember the name!!!!!
It had won a classic race and then they turned to dressage (Kim Bailey trained it and wife rode it in dressage I think) I beat him on my ickle NF/Tb! Dont think we would have beat him on the track somehow!

I've ridden Pippa Funnell's Cornerman, when I spent a day with the GB eventing team a few years ago. Only for about five minutes though, walking round the sandschool hehe

Temple guess what that was at the Whitakers yard, Believe it has been with Paul Barker for the last few years.

And the black horse John Whitaker had, steps helsinki?

DHI Peppino - International dressage pony, owned by one of my best friends.

Rosewall Mister Softee - Not hugely famous but well known champion show pony and a cracking JA pony who is oned by a very good friend.

Anybody remember faking it with the dancer turned show jumper? Cazza owns one of the horses she competed against in the end comp and I rodeher quite a bit wen I was there.

Thats the best I can come up with

Have an ex ride of Leslie Law and Austin O'Connor in my RS, lost his nerve at advanced level and even now won't jump off long ones in the arena

He's a regular mount for my flat lessons

My son rode (and jumped) the Grade A Stallion Ontario and Alison Dawes rode my pony - we swapped rides but hers wasn't anything famous. We also sat and watched the BBC video of her winning the Hicktead Derby on Maverick. Does any of that count?

Showing my age!

I've ridden Nizefella, the showjumper that was the mainstay of the Gold medal team at the Helsinki Olympics, the only Gold medal that Great Britain won at those Games! Mind you, he was retired but he quite liked you to hop on when bringing him in from the field!

wow!
another claim to fame, dealer friend had supreme rock as a foal and thought that he was nothing special, and sold him on for owners!

could you imagine passing that by?

(also i have groomed valegro - does that count?

Thirty years ago a few days after my mother had died from breast cancer , my aunt took me and my brother and sister to meet Red Rum as his trainer was a friend of hers . She told us we where going to meet probably one of the most famous people in the world , my dad usted to be a jump jockey and I have sat on the odd race horse cannot remember their names ?

sadly not!! but does it count if famous person has ridden your horse lol!!

Geoff Billington rode my loan horsey in lesson round a course of jumps in September!!

Rosie went and rode Cottage Craft Spirals when his owners decided to loan him to a young rider. She was told she'd been second choice to have him (but they may have said that to all the unsuccessful tryers) and he went to Georgie Spence. Sadly, he's since died

I was groom to Grandstand the famous cob at HOYS rode him for 5 years and whilst at the same yard was lucky enough to ride lots of well known race horses including derby horses

My godmother owns Mornington Crescent, a coloured dressage pony who was on several pony european teams, she then trained him to Grand Prix, and she popped me on him at the age of 10 to do proper flying changes and piaffe! Lovely stuff! F was sort of famous I guess, rode him rather a lot

. My mum used to let me ride her mare, Kendal Caprice, who was 15hh (which I thought was HUGE at the time!), that she rode at Burghley, and the mare used to tow me everywhere in extended trot!

A friend I did Juniors with did work experience with Leslie Law, she rode Shear L'eau quite a few times whilst there, and then Headley Brittania was at Gill's yard whilst we were based there and she rode her several times as she was about to buy her.... She has since given up horses, but I have made her ride William to see if her magic rubs off!

If you were into arab racing in the UK in the early 90's then you will recognise the name Duma, one of the best race mares of her time. I was her groom for a time.

Warwick, again, a long time ago, used to SJ with Tony Newberry.

Then there is Arian of course, again, only famous if you read a certain book.

Some years ago I once rode an andalusian stallion belonging to Gerard Naprous that was a film horse and had starred in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves and the television series of Sherlock Holmes. Very genuine horse and I've been smitten with the breed ever since
