One thing I got told once is you lose a lot of the gripping benefits if you have a fleece or sheepskin cover against the horse. It is difficult to tell from the photo.

It has arrived! Going to try it out at lunchtime.

Dave is like a teddy ?Well, it was very blustery at lunch, but we gave it a try. It's lovely and soft.
Dave seems to approve. He boinged along like a little bouncy ball, ears up & happy! He's a sensitive soul & if something is uncomfortable, he doesn't hold off telling you.
It's a thumbs up from us so far!
Oh & yes, I forgot to put the straps through the top loops. Dur!
Out of interest why are they so amazing? Over the years we have found better materials and better designs on most things so what makes this old design so brilliant?
Interesting. I am on the look out for new girth ideas. They seem to really work for stability. Also it feels lovely!
For me it was quite grippy on a no wither horse. She also never had any objections to the girth. It's also quite easy to wash. Personally nowadays I prefer simpler solutions and stick with them rather than keep spending money I don't need to spend just because it's the latest thing.Out of interest why are they so amazing? The standard length one is lovely on both my sensitive skinned forward girth groove TBx and my barrel shaped Sec D. Lovely and soft, washes well and dries quickly and looks as good now as it did when brand new. I'm certainly going to order one now Dave's Mum has sourced them - I saw Ingrid Klimke uses them too!Interesting. I am on the look out for new girth ideas.

i guess it melds around the rib cage, and also has a bit of front to back flexibility compared to other materialsOut of interest why are they so amazing? Over the years we have found better materials and better designs on most things so what makes this old design so brilliant?
