Has the bubble burst for Le Mieux new season colours?

I noticed that Le Mieux have been advertising their latest colours which dropped earlier this week.

Previously there would be a lot of excited chatter about it but I haven't heard of anyone rushing out to get them this time.

Has the bubble finally burst on the rush to buy something that is a very slightly different shade to what was previously available?

I guess the current financial climate will have a lot to do with it but it did always seem to be a lot of marketing hype and a bit of a rip off.

I hope so. If people took matchy matchy funds and spent it on stuff that actually benefited their horse, instead of with a company that has questionable business practices, I'd be very pleased!
I sold all mine and don't intend on buying more. Is there a link to their dodgy business practices please?

Yup, won't touch anything Le Mieux, the ethics of fast fashion aside I completely swore off them after the Crafty Ponies issue and what came out surrounding that.

Funnily enough I thought the exact same earlier when an email came through announcing the new colours and I realised it was the first I had heard of it. In the past it has been anticipated for weeks beforehand and the excitement was evident (FWIW I also think the new colours are very similar to previous ones this time around...). I used to like le mieux stuff before it was too "popular" as thought it was nice quality for the price. I think this has changed recently and although I do have a XC set from them and a couple of other numnahs I don't absolutely rave about them.

I would say so although I do have a couple if their pads and like them

@sbloom what dodgy business practices?

I'm also guilty of having a few of their pads.. they fit my saddle well and always wash up nicely. The original colours they came out with were nice but it's been a while since they've come up with a good one.

Funnily enough the new colours have just popped up on my Facebook. Can't say that I am a fan of Kiwi but then my saddle cloths are all brown, grey, black, navy or white so I am not the target audience.

Plenty of people commented on the post though that seem to be buying them. Oh well, a fool and their money and all that.

As a former matchy fan, I’ve never rated Le Mieux. Overpriced and the saddle pads always rub. Plus I’m not keen on the colours. If you want to go matchy, you’re better off with Eskadron tbh.

I noticed there was alot of hype in getting the colours out, it was all over my feed on majority of my social medias all from their sponsored/brand ambassadors but there isn't any of that "Le Mieux" hype this time round

If you search LeMieux in here you'll find discussions, it's not just Crafty Ponies, and I do think they were pretty direct rip off, but grooming bags and one or two others, they have form. And the whole "new colours" twice a year thing isn't exactly saving the planet...I have long stocked Mattes who provide colour samples and only introduce new colours occasionally, everything is custom made with huge choice so less likely to be chucked away in a year or two.

Like them or not there was no crime in making teddy ponies. Crafty Ponies don’t own the concept of toy ponies, and they were so different in look and price that they attracted different buyers.

The social media pointing and chanting over that was ridiculous.
I used to make them, custom to match a real pony, long before Crafty Ponies did.

Years ago, Le Mieux used to sell a few decent products, but in recent years they changed direction and started flooding tack shops with matchy tat. They seem to have followed the Joules marketing approach and that didn't end well.
Both companies used to be favourites of mine, but when quality was exchanged for embarrassing tat, I stopped buying.
