What is everyone wearing to keep their heads dry? Hood won't stay up, woolly hats and baseball caps get wet and it's not really cold enough for a woolly yet. I could do with something with a brim and that won't blow off ?
My gran used to wear these and headscarves! ?If you want to keep dry on a rainy, windy day it's got to be a rain bonnet like mums used to wear in the 60s. They're naff, but effective. You first![]()
Me too, plus old Barbour coat and riding trousers. Look like an old tramp, but don't care. Warm and dry.My waterproof Musto cap. It's a waterproof fleece lined baseball cap with ear flaps and an adjustable drawstring. Keeps me dry and warm, doesn't blow off in a gale and doesn't muffle my hearing either.
I have been known to wear mine into town on a wet day like today ?.

Proper wool flat cap, or leather bushman hat
Thank you all very much for your suggestions- I have had to google a couple! Never heard of a cheese cutter and was quite disappointed when I saw what it was. I thought there must be a wire involved somewhere. Anyway, I think favourite so far is the Musto cap, mainly because I can identify with that sailor getting gale force wind and torrential water blown in his face, that's just how I felt yesterday. Bushman's hat is also something I've always fancied but assumed would blow off when battling against the elements. Probably something you have to try in person to get the right fit rather than buying online. I've tried the baseball cap under a hood but the brim got soggy and tbh I find hoods annoying, especially when you turn your head and the hood doesnt turn, resulting in loss of vision and a mouthful of hair.
