So for fear of something going wrong, or it falling through I have up until now done my best to keep quiet about this!
But basically, I maybe sort of bought myself a new horse.
I have since quite young wanted a Welsh section D, my best friend had one when I was younger, and I loaned one when I was about 13/14. I then nearly bought a foal when I was 16 but it fell through. My absolute ideal was a chestnut, flaxen mane and tail, and four white socks. So when I was sat on Facebook the other day, I spotted a photo of a chestnut in one of the groups i'm in. Just happened to click and have a look, it was for a 2 year old Welsh section D, flaxen mane and tail, four white socks.
Mentioned it to my mum, who convinced me to ask for more details. Which I did. Then asked you guys what you thought of him, then asked more questions.
Then today drove a 360 mile round trip to collect my new, as yet un seen pony.
(I am quite spontaneous!)
Thankfully he was better than I could ever have hoped for, just the cutest little thing, I am smitten.
He has never travelled, but was dragged out the field he lived in with his dad and siblings, led to the trailer and after not a huge amount of resistance slowly made his way on then travelled all 4 and a half hours home as good as gold.
Seemed a bit shocked when we got to the yard, popped him in Major's box and he just froze for a few minutes  then had some hay, a drink and a wee! Let me and my mum poke, prod and coo over him said hello to his new big bro and is in for the night tonight. Just until I get him and Major settled in the field together then he will live out with Major
He's three next April, I hope he will be my forever horse, just a general all rounder and some low level eventing if he can jump. Hopefully lightly back him next summer, but until then bits and bobs of groundwork and chilling with his big bro.
First time I've been in the possession of one of these that isn't wetherby's!
