have they missed a 0 off??!!

It sadly doesn't suprise me in the current economic climate. And a big 18hh horse with issues is a lot harder to cope with than a 15hh with issues. He also doesn't hack out on his own and seems to constantly need company so probably a bit nappy. I can't understand why the owner doesn't e-bay the tack and sell the horse seperately. Somethings not quite right.

Think with take £1000 without £600

A few people I have spoken to wont touch anything over 17hh so 18hh rules out a fair few

Could be a nice horse to show you the ropes though at a lower level assuming he is still sound.

Just shows how bad the market is right now!! I'm almost tempted to go and scoop him up. I'm a complete pansy xc but have a friend who events. She could try him first (once fit obviously) and then pass him over.

15 isn't that old these days as long as he has no health issues!

The honesty of the advertiser, wouldn't bother me, in the least, but £600? I suspect that there's more to this horse, than meets the eye. 30 years ago, I'd have beaten a path to his door.

Alec.

i used to own this horse and that is MY picture of ME riding him!!!! dangerous and needs to be pts sadly, has real anxiety problems and cant cope at times and at 17.2 (not 18hh!!!) he is far to big to be dangerous!...

because we gave him to someone we very vaiguely knew as a field companion (who knew all his issues), only to find out he has been through 3 homes since in the last year!!!!! this will be the 4th!

happy to post it on here chasing the dream :)

He has 2 completely different sides to him - calm lovely horse (when out in the field with lots of company!) and absoloutly maniack! When hes in this mood he becomes v v powerful - once pushed his way through a locked stable door and broke out!!! If you were stood in his way at that point he wouldnt take a blind bit of notice and would go straight over you... Goes aboloutly mental if a horse is taken away from him. Weaves/box walks for hours and work himself up into a right state. When hacking he can just flip at the smallest thing and turn himself inside out. We had just got home one day and were going to go in the school for a bit, and he didnt want to so he decided to rear vertically several times andmy head was inches away from the drain pipe above my head! When hes calm however he is the loveliest horse ever, but that is very very rare, probably why hes so underweight - hes such a worrier! The only way i can see him being happy is by literally being left out in a feild with a herd of horses left untouched! Otherwise the kindest thing i would think would be to have him pts :( :(

here are couple of videos of when he was (kind of!) behaving - as you can see - not exactly what you would expect to see from the picture (very decieving pic!) hes very angular naturally btw, but i have seen a more recnt pic of him and he was def underweight and a bit ribby :(

An honest, and laudable response. He should be PTS before he kills himself, or his new owner. A snip at £600? Hardly, more a death trap.

As a matter of interest, how was he bred?

Alec.

Alec - criminal law and unknown dam. And yep, ive found the seller on facebook and am tryng to pursuade her to get him pts (the reason they are selling him is cause he kicked her mum in the head?! how irrisponsible to try and sell him as a riding horse?!) even though its not my place but its definatley dangerous to sell him

:eek: Oh my word,as sad as it seems hope his owners are responsible!

After what the previous owner has said about this horse I cant believe these people have the flaming nerve to pass this horse to some one else.

How can they live with themselves knowing the potential threat this horse is, how irresponsible. Why on earth cant people be honest and do the right thing by the horse instead of passing the problem to some unknowing poor person.

Gosh this really pees me off.

Have just read advert again !!!! WTF " by no means difficult" there having a laugh.

I would be ringing them and telling them what I thought im afraid if I knew this horse.

I think he looks yummy, its bloody criminal that the owners are trying to sell him on! Why can't people just take responsibility for things! Poor boy wish I had space for another. :-(

Samantha - if you think about it, he weaves and cribs. He probably stresses the weight off. I had one on my yard and the poor lass was scanned and found to be riddled with stomach ulcers too. Lovely mare, but soooo stressy, hence the need for company too I guess:(
