First of all let me say i love my yard, I keep my head down, I do my horse, I have a few good friends on the yard and I wouldnt be anywhere else but today I must admit I am really pissed off .
Some people on the yard have clearly been abusing the hay all in rule. They have been overfeeding and then wasting the hay - chucking it all out if their horse doesn't eat it (but apparently it would seem, feeding said horse the same portion the next night
)
Ed has two haynets. He finishes it all and if he doesn't he keeps it for the next day.
The actions of a few have now made the YO put a rule of one haynet per horse per night. This is simply not enough for Ed. He'd spend half the night stood round with nothing, which for me is unaaceptable.
I am annoyed that the actions of a few are threatenning (potentially) the health of my horse (cant horses get ulcers from long periods without trickle feed going through?)
The little cow in me feels like going out and getting an industrial sized net
but the pacifist in me feels like going to the yo and trying to explain why it wont/cant work.
After all you cant say a 13hh pony eats the same as a 16,2hh horse or a jack russell the same as a St Bernard etc etc and honestly, if this really does carry on i'll have to think about moving, which I really dont want to do.
Thoughts, suggestions?
