cruiseline, I own a half-sister of Royaldik, and I've used Royaldik in my breeding program.

I would not rush to use Royaldik in an eventing breeding program unless the mare has excellent jumping technique and scope and the dam-line has solid jumping genetics.

With regards the arguement I started regarding JM vs FI. I have in no way said that FI had as yet proven himself as a competitor as he is (as others have said) only 4 yrs old....competitive achievements NOT being taken into account I was merely saying that the use of JM as an event sire is ALMOST the same as using any other UNOPROVEN event sire seeing as whilst he himself has competed to a high level but none of his stock are as yet competing an proving themselves. Yes, JM is very well related, etc but so are many other stallions.

I used FI as an example, as yes, he has yet to prove his worth under saddle (having already done so from an in-hand POV) however he himseld is very well related from and eventing viewpoint and also has yet to have his progeny come out under saddle and prove themselves...same as JM! I was merely saying that IMO, based on my personal preferences between the two horses and only taking into account what I have seen so far of their progeny and NOT their competitive achievements, that I would personally prefer to go fo FI OR a stallion like him, over JM.

I am sorry Julia if my comment made you feel like you had to defend FI at all, that was never my intention as I was simply saying that IMO I personally preferred him to JM
