The tri-geminal nerve is very close to the surface just where the cheek pieces lie.

When all these have been done then I go for veterinary help.
 
I noticed my mare seemed to get upset when i did her noseband up (even though it was only on the loosest hole),so i rode her without the noseband and she was noticeably better :-)
She had her teeth done last Thursday so it will be interesting to see if shes any different again now thats done too!
