Us horsey people really know how deep the love of a horse is here.

I bred this boy I was there 5 mins after his birth - his mum means more to me than my life as he does. I got a call from Betina at RVC about the cremation, Unfortunately Giles from Equine and pet services is away and she recommended peaceful pets, and they are coming to collect my boy tomorrow.

He then asked me what I want on the casket and I chose his name and "My main Man" because he is my only ever gelding and he is my main man to me.

He will be returned to me on Tuesday


One of my trainers said they friend put their horse in a raised wooden planter with flowers on top so if they ever moved they took them with them, I think that is a lovely idea.
So many things I said and did and little foibles I am finding " Oh know he's not here"

I hope you feel better when your boys ashes are returned it really made me cry when I got my old boys ashes back years ago with his name on the casket when I lost him after a colic operation but I did feel a little better when I could collect the casket and bring him home. I’m thinking of you at this really sad time xx

He was bare foot these last few years but do have some of his earlier shoes, RVC have got me a small sample of mane tail and fur. I do have lots his tail as one time I grew his tail to 8ft 2 to try break world record. I then cut it when I decided 12ft was too much to hope to grow and maintain, but it works out as now my rocking horse has a lovely tail courtesy of him as it did not have a tail
