My beautiful mare of a lifetime has just turned 27 on March 3rd...and is usually so full of love & life...usually at a canter where ever she's going & that includes when shes grazing!

I've had her 20 years and we've been thru so much together..I really need your best healing vibes please to help her get thru this & get better.

She wasn't right this morning and had laid down-her matts were all rucked up & she was covered in bedding, quiet but not really presenting colic as she usually might(been colic prone since before I bought her) she ate up her breakfast keenly then instead of eagerly waiting at the door, she stood at the back of her box and went all dozey..she's like a 2 yr old out of the stalls every day & is always so full of beans..she looked tired.

I found some reedy grassy ornamental plants on the floor in her box and her droppings were nice but more size for a section A than a 16.2 TB vital signs were good but gut sounds loud. She went down. Called vet. turned her into school, down twice more. Vet gave buscopan iv & fynadine and said should be ok.Within the hour she went down again twice, digging this time, went really distant on me then started rolling eyes, tongue lolling out of her mouth, closing eyes..I cried get up Jessie i can't loose you & up she jumped..back down-never rollling just lying still. I got her up & then she picked up a bit and carried on. Had soaked hay & soupy sloppy feeds in field & seemed happy out with her best friend..Came in happily this eve then down she went. twice.third time cast in door. Called vet. he said simply can only really try control pain so I've given 2 danilon & came home just before 9-been there all day. Going back at 10-hoping he won't need to come out but will give buscopan then if he needs to..I really need some positive vibes & a healing boost for her please to get her thru this.

When she went down this eve I thought she was going. A polish decorator helped me get her up -we struggled till my lovely rescue dog jumped out of the car window & bounded in he cried to her & nudged her hocks-didn't bat an eyelid at the scary painter who was trying to help me-bare in mind he is terrified of men & new people,he just ignored him & ran to nudge Jessie she looked round & carefull re positioned her feet & carefully stood up..It was amazing to watch as he's not usually free when they are out for everyones safety, but he did his job this eve..he does have a soft spot for her as I'm sure he knows shes my favourite girl.. I simply couldn't bare to lose her & just want to have her back to her usual fighting spirit & full of beans self.

She pood when she first came in but had only had half her supper..she slowly took the danilon tho when I offered it..taking peppermint tea up there when we go back (dog & I)

Something worries me it may be something underlying if not triggered by the plants..grass sickness..I lost a filly to this in 2002 and worryingly similar..It really can't be her time..we've still so much to do together..all those ear rubs & cuddles & her dong her SAR dog impression to find the treats -never a dull moment or a sad one with her ever. She gave me a huge hug this eve just before I left..I pray it was a cheer up I'll be ok one..it would break my heart if anything happened.

Also need some vibes for YO to not blow her stack for me being there late..my little mare means the world to me..I know she can do this & get better, just need a little hho moral support please..we seriously need you to work your healing magic xxx

Thank you all..sorry that was epic..I type faster when i'm holding my breath:-( Heading back in 5 mins...stupidly just sat on my leg on the bed typing that & when I went to stand up it all went wrong.twice luckily missed the stairs with drunk leg..:o I am officially this eves HHo idiot

How sad, poor old girl.

I hope she's not feeling to uncomfortable, that she recovers soon and starts cantering around her field again. Vibes are certainly winging your way.

<<<<<<Vibes>>>>>>>> for your mare. Colic is always so worrying. My mare had a bout of impaction colic a few weeks ago on the 2nd visit vet intubated her with warm water and electrolytes to get everything moving again. We did need a 3rd visit but she's fine now (fingers crossed), perhaps it's worth mentioning this to your vet. By the way my vet said not to let her eat much fibre at first until we were sure the obstruction had cleared.

healing vibes sent.

Any YO should be sympathetic in this situation. I would never mind anytime of the night if a horse ill and owner needs to stay here.

Keep us posted fingers X toes X . I lost my mare recently 23 had her all her life bar 15 months I know what its like to have them that long.

praying for a good outcome.

Sounds like my mare just over a week ago, wasn't the typical colic signs but she was like this for a few days then got an impaction and the vet took some bloods and found liver problems. She passed the impaction fine but we still can't get to the bottom of the liver problems. Could be something totally different but a blood test could rule it out :)

Vibes for Jessie !! Hope she is getting on ok know how u feel I have a tb prone colicky horse and just got back from yard as one of liveries ponies colicky and needed vets twice x
