I bet she hasn't eaten in a while, they do take some time for it to percolate through. Sending good thoughts and doing a poo dance.Just want her to do a poo, she did one in the box and has not done one since we got back at 3pm
Thank you and everyone for your kind words and help at this difficult time. Well I woke up so many times in the night to check her and see if any poo, and about 4.30am looked like a poo, and also 6pm. Then just before I turned her out she pooped. Today I gave her small wet ready grass with water and bran, and wet haynet. Just brought her in and flies all over the melanoma balled spots so need to cream them, they all healed but balled. Gave her a shower Put her in walked away to turn hose off, came back and she pooped.I bet she hasn't eaten in a while, they do take some time for it to percolate through. Rigs was only ill for one day and it still took 3 days for normal service to be resumed. He had soaked speedy beet 4 X a day to keep it all moving through but not backing up.
When he had colic 4 years ago, it took as long as he was ill (almost a week) to get normal service resumed. I was told minimal food for days, and it didn't help to answer the poo quest!
Mines going to be around £ 3000, had sheI'm staggering around with my vets bill. I wish you luck with yours!
Not that I'm saying it isn't worth it; it's just an unplanned one and quite large LOL.
Only horse people can get exited about horse poo and how many they do. 1 poo in the field yesterday and 3 today yaaaaaMines going to be around £ 3000, had she
gone to surgery it would have been £ 9000
I have PVD in both eyes. Google it . t's almost inevitable as you age and very common. I was quite alarmed to start with, but ignored the advice to take it easy and no consequences. Once it's happened, it's happened and resting isn't going to reverse it. Main consequence is more floaters. Not a big drama.Only horse people can get exited about horse poo and how many they do. 1 poo in the field yesterday and 3 today yaaaaa
Got her some recovery mash, and been carefully managed hay wet, and small feeds. So far so good.
Now I been down to the eye hospital and been diagnosed with PVD. jeeze that is all I need no strenuous work for a month hard with a yard, or I would need eye surgery.

That sounds very reasonable to say it was an in-patient.Mines going to be around £ 3000, had she

Yes, the pupil dilation stuff is horrid, isn't it? I was really quite alarmed when it first happened - I had a strange flash in my eye going on. But over time, more and more people told me everyone will get time at some point, as it's part of the aging process. Mine just arrived early. I hated all the new floaters in my vision but my brain seems to have got more used to them now, so I don't notice them so much.thankyou SC and MG I hated the anaesthetic in the eyes and the stuff to dilate the pupil. Makes me feel reassured.
This was me as well. Started having a weird flash in my eyes when I was reversing my car so looking backwards. Had it checked and that is was it was. Rarely see it now and I wasn't told to take it easy, just left to carry on as usual.Yes, the pupil dilation stuff is horrid, isn't it? Oh yea we all age 10 years or more!!Going to make myself ill worrying about my mare. So today again.
While I was lunging S, I notice before and during the 20 minds my mare just stood still in the field not moving, then after putting S out she had gone further up the field still standing so gave her some recovery mash. finished the yard then checked her and she by the trough still standing. sat in my lorry for 20 mins( still not had breakfast) so called vet.
Vets been everything still sounds ok, but a little dehydrated and she also got a small cataract in her left eye. Vets taken bloods to check for tape worm, keep up the recovery mash and keep in in out the sun. Anyone else aged 5 years worrying about their horse.
