Yikes, what a scorcher!

What's everyone got planned, beyond ice cream and sunscreen?

Kira and I went off for a lesson first thing this morning, was already quite warm but the sun hadn't got onto the indoor school properly so was not as bad as I was expecting. Little tune up for her, just refreshing the extensions and then tucking the canter piris right up into a neat little shape, clever girl.

This afternoon Salty and I braved the heat of the day and had a trip to the vets, very exciting day for me as she has scanned in foal and today was the heartbeat scan. I had been having nightmares all week so it was so lovely to see the little blob pulsing away on the monitor <3 An anxious long wait now. eep.

Tomorrow Kira and I are packing ourselves off to Stoneleigh, we are guinea pigs in the dressage masterclass. Say hi if you're there :)

quiet weekend after that, i *must* get some front shoes put on Darcy, lol, OH has been haymaking again so it's slipped down the to-do list but he needs to do some hillwork now :p

Have fun everyone

Super hot super cob pic

Nothing exciting planned here either, might try and get off my bum and take B Fuzzy to local rs on Sunday as they have clear round jumping, but it depends on the weather.
Otherwise will be hacking each day.
MP congrats on Salty and hope K likes being a Guinea pig:)
LL v glad you can start walking sicknote now x

Good luck to anyone competing :)

Oh that’s very exciting news about Salty! What stallion did she go to?
*has visions of MP riding a homebred at GP in about 10 years*

I’m fence judging at Cholmondeley on Saturday so fingers crossed for a bit of shade!

I hope the weather forecast is wrong! It's supposed to rain all day here on Saturday ... not what I wanted! I am running a show specifically for exracehorses and standardbreds! Its the first time I have ever ran a show and I *think* I have everything sorted!!! I am going to head along to Howe tomorrow to set up the rings and Handy Pony! But the troops have rallied! I have just over 30 horses entered with 118 class entries. A few more might come along on the day but maybe not if the weather is minging!

The only thing I lack is a photographer having been let down! So if anyone in the central Scotland area is at a loose end on Saturday and is handy with a camera give me a shout!!!

Frickley BE on Friday for me and Katie.... It's a weird test so I need to try and get it into my thick head. I was supposed to be travelling down this afternoon so I could learn the course but decided against travelling them in the heat. So will need to get up at 4am to be able to walk it before dressage. Not really feeling it atm but hopefully I'll cheer up once I am actually there. But it's been a rubbish week at work, I'm too hot, 'stuff' is going on and tbh I just want to hibernate for the weekend!

well that would be living the dream, hehe. Plenty of GP horses on both sides so you never know :p:po_O
She went to a local stud, to a KWPN called Update (Samber lines) that my OH has known for a long while and trimmed/shod a lot of the progeny, he was the one that encouraged me as he said they were all easy & nicely put together horses which sounded ideal for a first time breeder. Went to meet him and he was an absolute sweetheart, just a lovely character and he has a bit more extravagance in his movement than Salty & they complement each other so hoping it will make a nice combination. timing should be pretty good if it all comes together, cos Kira would be nearly 20 by the time it was ready to do something. Always have to be succession planning ;)

Congrats on the foal very exciting!

I am off to Royal International Saturday with my friend and her daughter's show pony she has 2 classes on the Sunday, really looking forward to it just hope it is a bit cooler.

Oh how exciting MP! Good luck with the foal and all that stuff!

Good luck competing AE, you'll be grand once you get going.

It's not due to be too hot here in NI but only planning on hacking anyway :)

Enjoy everyone

Congrats on the foal in the oven! Exciting times.

My little cob is a bit lame at the moment. He always has rubbish feet in the summer, and he has lost a shoe twice in three days. It twisted a little and he lost a decent chunk of hoof, so he's feeling a bit sore. I suspect he will have the weekend off.

I have a flat lesson on Saturday and a jump lesson on Sunday with the big lad. Then Sunday to Monday I am part of the team running our Pony Club camp, so that will be fun. We have 11 kids coming, aged 10 to 16. We have some games and things planned, ticking boxes for the camping badge for PC, then having a competition on Monday. They are are the Pony Club Centre champs on the 20th August so we are using the camp as a bit of a warm up. I suspect I will spend Tuesday asleep 😄

We’re on an adventure :)

Been making plenty of use of the showers as we arrived to 38*c and it’s only just cooling now!

Toasty trot up yesterday at about 5- all the British contingent through.

Then even warmer today! 294E87DA-A468-4117-8FF1-C2986787E5D8.jpeg

So a pretty toasty 4.40 dressage:

Better than could have been hoped for with a 59pens (started at 58 on provisional results!) that’s 63% in BD terms but it’s a killer test! All 5 judges close on scores :) Sitting lower mid field (14th/25, 5 pen from 6th and 10 from 3rd, in a proper international 3* so pretty pleased with that! XC Saturday when it should be much much cooler.

Ohh I'm so excited for you MP 😊😊😊

Good luck tomorrow AE x x

Hope everyone manages to stay cool... Seemingly it was 40 degrees in London today?

F and I had a super hack in the forest with some friends, followed by a picnic.. Lovely day, except I forgot my gloves so have a big blister 😭😭😭

Fionn was an idiot though every time Daisy left his side, squeaking and jumping about 😭😭

Cough seems to be receding though 😊😊, and we leave for our holidays on Saturday ❤❤

It might be worth trying Matt Drynan on Facebook? He comes to a few driving things. There's also Andy Campbell at Taken Event Photography or Aidan at Saltire photography. Would have loved to help but we're away down to Burgham with the eventers!

How exciting MP!
Good luck Rara, I hope it all goes well.
Picnic in the forrest sounds like it was lovely Fiona.
I hope you find the eventing jazz AE.

Henry and I have one last XC schooling before his eventing debut next weekend. I am pretty excited. The rest of the weekend will be spent gardening and spending time with the newest member of the family! Rosie.jpg

Yikes, exciting weekend plans thread this week, what with future foals, international comps and new puppies!

Nothing much going on for me, though I actually feel that after years of just bimbling along not really being that bothered I'm actually starting to get my mojo back. So we'll see if it sticks around.

Would like to get out in the lorry with Arts if it's not too hot

Oh didn’t realise salty was going to be a momma! Growing your own eh mp. Exciting

And love the new pop AE, he’s utterly gorgeous.

Weather should be cooler but had such a busy one last weekend, non horsey, that I haven’t planned anything for this one. Haven’t been at the yard for a while so will just enjoy mooching about with the nag. Might pop some jumps of it isn’t too hot.

Am realising that July Aug is often rubbish for me with non horsey things, so will plan to do a bit more from sept onwards.

Mr Asha and I are off on our once a year weekend break . Cotswold’s here we come . Although Aria is at Cholmondeley on Sunday , gutted I’m going to miss it , as I love the place . But daughter has promised minute by minute updates .
Congrats MP on the foal , we’ve been trying for a few months now , ours get scanned end of next week . I honestly can’t see either of them being in foal this time . But at least we have tried !!
Good luck with the sj chippers , and AE I’m sure you will fly round today

Am planning for a September date for more madness here if you're interested (and I can make a date work with the master!).
