Hi everyone, I signed up and while ago and have been lurking ever since so thought I should say an official hello!
I'm Sarah, from Plymouth and I have recently bought my 16h rising 3yo American Quarter Horse, Layla (I hope pics work??).
I'm planning to break her in slowly (she's an odd horse & needs time to get used to things!) then plod around the lanes for a while before generally having some fun!
In the end I'd like to do a bit of jumping, pleasure rides and maybe try out her western roots!
When I first got her:

As a 2 year old:
And yesterday:
To any very clever/western people out there, she's passported as "perlino" (colour), what on earth is this and how does it differ to cremello?
And now for the long shot - Layla's full name is Talawater Princess Layla, and she was bred by my best friend's mum who has been breeding QHs for years. I grew up spending most weekends at their farm so got to know the mares and foals pretty well.
Just wondering if any one owns or knows of any "Talawater" Quarter Horses as it would be nice to see them grown up.
Especially Talawater Hiawather (sp) who was a big bay QH x Shire and my fave growing up!!
