Hello to all the ex NEW RIDER FORUM...

I've been a lurker here for ages for second opinions, etc

...

Am definitely no fluffy bunny, nor do I have much time for bunnies or fluffiness in general ...

PS - I say this in the most light-heartedly way possible! Have always found HHO v helpful, esp as almost everything I need help with has been discussed before saving me the bother of typing up questions!

I jumped ship about a week ago :P
Not too fluffy I hope, not been eaten yet either.
I found 'that' thread about the whips & spurs highly amusing, OP just sounded very very deranged...

Hey all
I'm an ex NR whose had an account on here a while, but generally lurk.
I'm about as unfluffy as they come! Tried clicker training and PNH once, to see if it would solve a few issues with a rescue mare I worked with ... she didnt respond well at all. Whereas basic ground work, manners and firm specific instructions and rules on what was acceptable and not made her much more relaxed.

I'll mainly lurk, post from time to time .... but you lot don't scare me at all

*peers out from behind sofa*

I don't think!

I got banned from NR when Mike said

"anyone who sends links to alternative forums via PMs will be banned from NR"

I pointed out that is was hardly a threat as the people would be suggesting alternatives as their intention to leave .....

You know what, I kinda wish I went on NR now, it sounds like a good laugh! lol

Floyds mum- Damn straight! I don't think we'd survive without our wine and abuse! lol

Hi, another rat

I jumped ship from NR a while ago and definitely won't be paying £10 to talk about horses!

I'm partially fluffy, I started clicker training, thought it was stupid but came back to it when someone who knew how to do it properly taught me and I was converted. My mare is barefoot and was ridden in treeless saddles until some **** stole them all a couple of months ago. I do classical riding and would like to do some Trec and working equitation. I enjoy xc but am a scaredy cat these day and will only do it on really experienced horses. I do ride in a pelham (working equitation pelham) and sometimes use a whip. I have used spurs in the past but don't need them at the mo.

The funny thing about NR is that they say they're charging to stop the trolls and bullies ... like they don't have money or PayPal accounts!

More paranoid than soviet russia!

Hi to everyone! i too have abandoned the sinking NR ship where i was known as Hannah&Alfie, i was also a newbie on there and was a bit of a lurker to be honest, but recognise a couple of names on here.

I hope to get alot more involved and vocal on HHO (the fluffy bunnies scared me) so hope to do a proper introduction thread when I get some pics of my ponio, Alfie!

Hi, I'm from NR too, I intend to stay on there feel it will get a bit quiet.

I have been a member on here for a while but prefered NR in the past, this one moves a bit too fast for my old brain.

Still giving it a go

Me too! I was Lot1983 on NR.

Hummm, I've been making my boy wear purple brushing boots for the last week or so, mainly as I can't find any black ones at the yard that fit...

Excuses, excuses!

Well it's good to see such a varied lot of ex-NR folk on here along with all the other HHO folken. I was registered (old username was Lauran) but I never felt really willing or able to properly join in for one reason or another. I think a lot of the tiptoeing around one had to do was utter b*ll*cks and got fed up with offering my platitudes of joy and approval when someone posted a picture of a muddy horse or a cute horse or a wet horse or a plaited horse but being unable to feel like I could ask for or offer any serious advice on riding / position / technique / etc. So I didn't have very many posts in the 18 months or so I was there.

But I'm here now....I wasn't sure if I was going to use another forum but I like the look of this one. Fluffy I am most certainly not and I like being able to be open and honest as well as actually ask for real help when needed.

As a way of introduction, I'm Lauran and I live in Edinburgh. I have a 16.1hh Irish mare called Polly with whom I "do" dressage. She's bay with a bright gray mane and salt&pepper tail. I'm at work so will have to add some pictures when I get home.

Anyways, hello everyone and thanks for having me!

Fab thread! I just did an intro post - perhaps should have done here as am an ex NR! But I can assure you I am not in the least bit fluffy so wont be causing any controversy....sorry to disappoint!

honesty..... my middle name..

I went on NR a few times.. usually to tell people they were talking out of ther backsides by telling people that X Y AND Z is wrong with the horses hooves. I food the whole site a load of BILGE... except for a coupld of pcitures of the horses muscular / skeletal systems.

I welcome all new member, and I hope you enjoy it here. Youll get a lot of support.. But dont take it to heart when someone disagrees with your oppion.. it will happen at some point.. just dont take it to heart and do a runner!

Goo dluck in the big wide world of HHO

Lou x
