just bought a 6 year old cob mare, 16hh. She is very unfit although not too over weight, just lack of muscle. Started gentle road/hill work with a little trot on inclines.
Noticed she is a little "footy" on turning, and has quite marked indents and a crack in her front hooves. Farrier on the case now.
Question is - should she be on any feed? she is quite lively so would'nt want anything heating, but as she is still growing up and out the way wanted a little advice, out all day and in at night with hay.
My first ever cob since thoroughbreds so advice appreciated!
thank you
