Help - haven't cleaned my boots for a while as they don't often get used - I took my horse out cubbing last week and he got very sweaty !! Thought I'd be good and clean all his stuff and his boots are still covered in a horrible grease - I've power washed them and scrubbed them with a brush but bits of them still look manky !!

Any suggestions on what would be good to use / try - was thinking about washing up liquid, but wasn't sure if this would irritate him - although will make sure well rinsed ...

Anyhoos - anyone any thoughts ...

Thank you for reading my jibberish - Sx

I have a horse instead of a husband so dont get any complaints when girths, boots and saddlecloths get bunged in there!!! In fact there is a white saddlecloth doing the rounds in there now!

Derrr - don't know why - they normally go in the machine (when hubby is also out !!) but didn't think it would shift the muck - will put them in there now !!

Thank you all !!!

If you don't want to put them in the washing machine then you need really hot water. Get the kettle on and make up a bowl of soapy water as hot as you can bear. Give them a dunk adn teh grease should melt and scrub off easily.

Yep, washing machine here too. Make sure you do the straps up so that they don't get clogged up with hair and rubbish.

Personally I give mine a good scrub with fairy liquid and a dandy brush first to remove the grease, then I smother them in Vanish (white boots) and put them in the machine.

Come out looking like new

Depends which boots they are - my Woof Club Boots go in the machine, my expensive John Whitaker tendon & fetlock boots get carefully washed in the sink, or outside with warm water and washing powder.
