To my MMH bods (I know so many of you hang out here

)
This month's comp is a lesson with Andrew Gould and some goodies - woof wear bandages and wraps and 2 month's horse feed from Baileys. Mainly to celebrate Andrew's new blog on MMH , which started today.

I think I got the prize wrong as it's not proving popular

When we do professional rider lessons they don't ever seem very popular and yet is always requested when I ask for lists of 'must have' prizes. So can anyone let me know what they think - I know travel etc must put people off so shall I stop these sorts of prizes as I want to appeal to everyone

At least the Ariat Grasmere boots are on offer as well

any thoughts??? thanks guys!!

I don't think it's wrong, I guess the travelling is a problem for some and if you aren't within a couple of hours of him it may be too far - shame as I was lucky enough to have a lesson with him a while ago and he was fab!

oh my god, i'd chop of an essential limb to have a lesson with someone like that.... *rushes off to enter*

that really made me laugh out loud! However, hold onto those limbs as you will need them, especially if you win

Possibly because people can't afford to travel so far to have a lesson. My OH just said he would love to have a lesson with Andrew Gould but laughed when he saw how far away it is, there is no way we could afford to get ourselves there let alone the horse! Great prize for anyone that lives in Sussex though!

I didn't enter because I feel my horse is far too 'normal' for Andrew Gould to want to waste time on.
She is young, 4, and will never be a dressage superstar, so don't see the point in wasting his time .... or mine.

Maybe other people have similar feelings.

Oh not at all quirky - I had a lesson with him and my horse is only doing prelims!!! He was really down to earth and not at all precious about doing lower levels. You should go for it!

I didn't enter because I never win anything!
But I will go on now and enter
smile.gif
It's a fantastic prize and I'm sure lots of people would love to win it.

thanks guys for your honest opinions and yes I agree although I know Andrew does teach everyone so not please don't let that stop you entering and he's very nice and more than approachable
smile.gif
make sure you enter for the boots instead this month and I'll make it up to everyone in March

I lost my login details months ago!!! Just remembered them finally tonight so I have entered!! I think its a great prize, I think time of year people are still in semi hibernation!!

Sussex is just too far for me sadly

Also I wouldn't have had a suitable horse to do anything like that until 2 days ago

Did the beautiful bridle you won last month arrive yet?? The colours you chose sounded fab! x

I never enter comps to win a lesson with a top rider as I feel I am not a good enough rider and would be wasting his/her time.

He's too far away for me and I'd think he would only want to teach superstars and people out competing seriously at dressage!

I love the other competitions though and would enter comps for lessons if they were in the Midlands, but I don't think we have many famous people up here..?

if your username has an odd character in it = & £@$# etc for some reason it just won't accept it in the forum. You need to go to your account and change your username - log out and back in again and you'll be able to post. I have no idea why it does this but have the developers working on it, sorry

honestly please do - he is great and so down to earth and he really does teach all levels, I've seen plenty of his clinics and it really is full of regular riders who want some top advice

I've won more on MMH than anywhere else:

1 pair of tickets to Blenheim
1 sack topspec balancer
1 lesson with Georgie Spence/10 bales horsehage/set tendon, fetlock and over reach boots from trizone/trizone polo shirt

I enter all the MMH comps that are in easy reach from me lesson-wise, and everything else which doesn't require travel!

I entered

although I genuinely think that he would have an apopletic fit over my flat work... had a problem sending the email though ... I think it sent it blank!! it seems to be an unfixable problem with my computer atm, but I never win anything anyway

Also I think that lessons are an amazing prize, please dont stop them!!
