I've given my notice to my share horse's owner as I'm moving house and sadly the distance is too far for me to keep up the share.

I've already got her a thank you card but I wanted to get her a little something as well, ideally something that will benefit my horse as well as she's (mostly) looked after me.

I'm completely stumped for ideas though so any thoughts anyone has would be very welcome! Horse is 16.2hh chunky bay mare, pretty much retired to hacking only.

A lovely thought. How about a photo, enlarged and framed? Maybe a piece of jewelry with a little of the horses' tail in it. A bag of apples or a hamper of treats...new headcollar?

Budget is quite small, moving house has wiped me out, a think a portrait would be out of my budget sadly :(, it's a lovely idea though.

Do you have some nice photos that you could mount together in a frame? How about a name plate for the stable door?

I gave my old loan horse's owner a new headcollar and leadrope and a bag of treats when I moved away. It didn't cost the earth and she was grateful as his old set was on it's last legs!

Is there anything you can think of that your horse needs or would be appreciated? That way both the horse and owner benefit!

I'd get a nice canvas print done with a picture of her horse. There are usually loads of offers on them so you should be able to get a fairly decent sized one for less then £20.

I was also going to suggest a headcollar - maybe a leather one with brass name plate if budget allows? I think that would be a lovely gift. Horse & rider hamper of treats? x
