Hi everyone, I'm new ... just joined and have been reading through all your useful tips and advice this week and can't believe how friendly and helpful you are - it's fab!
Thought I'd post because I'm really excited because my new horse and my step-daughters pony arrive on Sunday and need your thoughts/help and ideas!
The little pony (3yo 12.2h Welsh Section B) is fab and I think she will settle in fine because she comes from a really great home with a similar routine, but my horse is a 15yo 15.3hh Cob X who is desperately in need of some TLC!
I wouldn't go so far to say she's been neglected (because she's of a good weight, bright eyed etc) but she is caked in mud (has lived out all year), with overgrown feed, in need of a good god damn groom and lots of love! I can't wait to get her home to me! (I kinda saw her, rode her and instantly fell in love with her - despite her grubby state)!
Can you offer some advice on helping her settle in without making her feel like she's on a different planet?!?
Thanks x
