My pony now has less than half of the mane she had just before christmas. During the extremely cold weather she was wearing a lycra body suit as an extra layer and this began the rubbing. I took it off as soon as I could and now she just has a standard neck rug on in the stable, but still has to wear her full neck out in the field. She's hunter clipped so needs her full neck but its tearing the hair out at an alarming rate. There are even bald patches beginning to come through! I need to do something now to get it to grow back for the fast approaching show season. Number one on my list is to buy a new rug that wont rub her mane, but anyone know what I can do to stop any more coming out?
