As a yard we have always used cattle ear tags to name feed buckets. But they were the "old" style and having now run out of stock I can't find anyone to supply them.
There bright yellow flexible rubber or rubber like plastic; 7 or 8 inches long with a bulbous label part some 2" x 3" at the base and a long shank above which threads back through a slit in the the body of the tag forming a loop. All I can find now are the type that you punch through the ear. And as feed buckets don't have ears I don't think that is going to be terribly successful!
So - any suggestions for a durable relatively bright coloured / visible tag which could be threaded through the handle of a variety of feed bucket types (Some use tubtrugs, some rubber feed skips, some plastic buckets etc). Either printable or blank so we can write names on with indelible ink. Sheep tags are too small small for this - the main label bit needs to be substantial enough that it can be read easily in half light. Writing names on the buckets themselves won't work either as most are black or dark coloured.
Anyone have any ideas?
