Help me shop for a property?

I know S Shropshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Radnorshire & most of The Marches well. If you find something you fancy, send me a PM and I can give you a rundown on that area. Your budget should get you a v nice property in, say, the Knighton / Presteigne / New Radnor area.

Thanks :)

With a budget of just over half a million it would be nigh on impossible not to find what you want in practically any part of the country......

A semi detached in my village, no land just a garden is £750k. Amazing riding though!

It’s worth looking in north Northumberland close to coast.
It will be a push a 600 k but it’s doable there’s just not a lot of supply although the coastal belt really caught the snow this time it’s very unusual .
Just north of Alnwick will just about get you to a big place to see films in the time you want but the distance from Newcastle drops the price a bit .

I don't know how much accommodation/land you want, but the Chester area will meet your needs. It is an historic interesting city, not too large or small, with the facilities that you seek. Good countryside. Delamere Forest is very popular but there are plenty of other places. You will get a good property with that budget.

Well you certainly couldn't get it around here (Kent/Sussex borders) for that price and probably not anywhere within about an hour or so's commute from London.

Nor round here (Surrey/Hants/Berks borders).
Would need to add at least another 1.5m to original .5m to get anything with land attached :(

ycbm, am enjoying in looking at the suggestions for you tho, great housework blocking move for me :D

The one near Carlisle that was posted, I'm very close to there and know the area quite well.

There is a beach near Wigton (relatively close by), and you are also very close to Greenlands EC if you ever wanted to hire an arena/compete/watch clinics. The hacking there is quiet, BUT I do think that the A595 was closed during the snow but then Cumbria was hit HARD with the most recent snowfall. However, community spirit in Cumbria means a tame tractor driver would happily dig you out I'm sure!

Also, being from the Isle of Man, I can vouch for the fact that it is quiet, heavy snow isn't normal and the scenery is stunning. Pleanty of plantations and beaches to ride on, alot of horsey things going on and on the Island you are never far away from anything ;)

Where????? Cheshire is expensive!

you should do it easily.

we have just bought 2.5 acres with a perfect zero work needed house, and 2 stables, in cheshire, for well under your budget.

all we need to add is the arena.

Erm, think agent has inadvertently included some personal details in the blurb! Who's Maureen cross?!!!

They have!!! That`s really bad isn`t it!!! I don`t know who she is but I doubt she`d be overly happy knowing her buying situation is out there for all to see 0.o

Omg just seen that :o

Is it bad I want to know what her situation is now?

LOL ... Well from my limited knowledge of estate agent speak (Kirsty and Phil lol) Maureen Cross is wanting to put an offer in, with a provisional mortgage of 480k in place and no chain (not waiting on a property to sell) so is in a good buying position (that`s her situation), but it`s 20k below the vendors asking price.

That'll be a big change in your life? I hope it goes well and you enjoy Cheshire, it's the horse centre of the Universe, I reckon :) We're only just inside it, but it's a lovely county.

If you have a Cheshire contractor do your arena, PM me for a name to avoid. He did my friend's and the drainage is shot after six years.

We were fantasy furnishing it this morning, and fantasy sitting on the terrace overlooking the river. I think OH might have been doing a spot of fantasy fishing, but I was definitely on the fantasy G&T :D

Meanwhile I've been on the real stuff last night in a fantastic hotel, Brooke Park, and I'm about to start again at my SiL's. :D.

What a birthday treat. Today I fed a silverback gorilla from a jug of ribena! He was awesome. Now my third treat, a wine and fine dining. AND I've got a big party next week on the actual day. Lucky me.

Enjoy your fantasy g&t tonight.

Being a Hampshire Hog at heart if the relatives ever leave my property I would sell up here and move to the IOW. Fantastic bridle paths, glorious hacking and beaches galore and similar to the IOM, your horses would never go missing.

It's a serious possibility, we loved it when we visited.

It's fab. Really easy to get to with horses aswell. Just load up and sail from heysham. There's always horses going backwards and forwards. I'll be moving back there in the not too distant future with mine.
