Hello :) My friend is required to set up and market something in the equestrian world which is not currently on the market.
Really looking for something which could be bought again and again by equine users, and not a one off buy, and something whihc would have a real place in the market. So if anyone has any ideas please write them down. Thanks

Okay this might be a bit weird but I actually thought of this today...

A little fly killer spray that you could keep in your pocket/grooming kit. I know you get fly repellent but you still get those pesky ones that won't leave your horse alone, one quick squirt and they're dead!? Don't know weather that would be possible without harming the horse...

I second this and a stable stain remover spray that you don't have to wash off

spray chalk - sort of like fake tan but obs white
i hate using chalk - i always forget i have just used it & go & touch black tack or my black jacket

Somehing that makes marking out dressage arenas in the field easy without ummng and arrhing about is the arena corners are square - prhaps a pre printed map that you could lie down on the floor put boards out around the edge - marked with the letter postion and then peel it back and hey presto a perfect arena !! - make my life a lot easier !

Removable liners for rugs (ie the bit that touchs the horse) so that you can wash them?

Like a cotton sheet or something that is washable :)

That or a pair of boots that change colour when the legs get too hot - like the hot/cold mugs or something like that :)

An arena string does that though? If the diagonal string is tight the corners are square.

I'd like a translator, so that when I say 'Get in the Trailer, there really aren't any tigers in there', or 'I just want to clip your coat off so that you are more comfortable when you work, not slit your throat' the horse will understand ! It would also be nice for the horse to be able to say 'Today I have a headache, please lets not go to the show' etc.

The first 2 already exist. Cotton sheets ARE washable *need a confused smiley*
I like the boot idea :)

as in purpose cotton sheets - one with front fastings only, (i know they are washable :p I mean ones that attach onto rugs so less likely to slip (like velcro attachments?) but can be removed when needed :)

Sorry, should have been more clear :)

Sounds interesting :) what course is your friend doing?

A training saddle (to sit on top of a well padded saddle cloth?) that is molded to keep your legs in the correct position.

Heel weights!!

OR a cheap saddle for riding young horses in; but moulds to individual horses'backs?

Say you use memory foam type material, and have a stronger seat ontop to sit on - used for breaking process so try to eliminate back problems?

A fly mask that they can actually see through easily :D, with maybe a clear pliable plastic instead of mesh over the eyes.

Only me
Rambos duo rug has removable, interchangeable linings. Or use a LW TO with different underrugs that can be washed easily.

Tescos sell iron on velcro! Have done this to a lot of my rugs and fleeces so any combination can go with any rug-the velcro is only £1.56

Super magic gloves that are thin enough so you can do girths, tie haynets etc., but keep your fingers properly warm so they dont go numb. Oh, and can they also be waterproof so when you spill the bucket on yourself by slipping in the ice it doesnt ruin the entire point of the glove? I think it would make winter bearable.

No, I dont mean changing the weight of rugs, I mean the weight of rug stays same, but with a cotton cooler under it so horse is clean - I could do with cotton rugs but always terrified that they will slip back and rub, so may invest in the iron on velcro ;)

A sit on wheelbarrow? with mucking out attachments?

Ahaa I don't know about sit on, but it would be really nice to have one with attachments, i have a struggle everyday with this - so if we could have something light weight which can be filled with muck, like the norm and then have attachments so i can take haynets, water and feed to the stable at the same time (i try, and fail this each day!)

Oh yes, I like the idea of the clear see through fly mask, I'd buy that. I always think the current ones must be pretty miserable to wear

Or how about a device that makes giving pills easy instead of having to crush and syringe them

Well, my horse just eats them, chucked in the feed, Weird.

How about something to make a horses feet mud repellant?

Oooh I like the mud idea - mud fever has actually eaten away at my insides and makes me very angry when i hear it lol .. please never come back again, i promise to eat all my greens? (bleurgh beans!) LOL

A gadget to attach to the side of a bucket/water trough, into which you put a hosepipe with a valve, so it holds the hose so that it ends at the right height that you wish to fill the bucket/trough to. You then turn on the valve at the end of the hose (the water having been left on back at the tap), and it fills to the required height while you go fill hay nets/poo pick etc, then the vavle turns the hose off. No overfilled buckets or water running everywhere you didn't want it.
