Help Needed - Hacked Hair :(

My gelding was ear twitched as a foal and the other day when it took an age of calm patience to get his fly mask on (I don't know why he was especially wary that day). By the time the mask was on, I was ready to go searching for the Vet that originally did it and give him a good slap with a wet fish. So I really feel for you RE his headshyness being made worse. I hope that he's back to normal and lets you touch his ears again soon.

Umm my daughter likes her old pony to have a long mane, but it does NOT suit her and gives the impression that she has a thin neck, so I take the scissors and mane rake to it a couple of times a year and tidy it up, much to daughters disgust !
I am a terrible person :D

OP the user "daughters groom" is the troll on this thread, not you :smile3: . Hopefully most people have realised that she isn't your mother, despite her post that confused some into thinking she was.

OMG I have just read this thread through and I really cannot believe this. Firstly, as a parent myself, OP its only hair! Yes I know its frustrating and annoying and you are really hacked off with mum but please get into perspective - it will grow back and I am sorry to say mums dont always get it right. Just go and kiss and make up with mum, life is far too short to be worried about a mane and tail.

Finally, I do post about my daughter on here, (Mini TX for information), but I dont go on here and rant about her short comings either as a daughter or a rider/horse owner, and I am realistic enough about her to know she does have them, I just dont care to make them public! I would be absolutely horrified if my daughter came on here and sounded off about something I had done to her beloved mare etc, etc.

I would suggest concentrating on your A levels is a better move than all of this, and perhaps repairing your relationshp with your mother - life is far too short.

Sasquatch, from what you've described, this wasn't a kind mum making a harmless mistake. This was a controlling mother trying to retain control by any means possible over a daughter who is growing up and away from her. She sounds like a nightmare of a mother, and i hope you manage to establish your independence soon.

Sasquatch, I hope you can take only the positive replies to your original post, unfortunately there are in this world people who wish to 'troll' and there is very little we can do about them. I hope daughter'sgroom is thoroughly ashamed of herself but sadly I doubt it. Please do not let this experience stop you commenting and posting on the forum.

If this was one of my parents I would go mental even though they're not horsey. I am grateful for their occasional help with the horses but they know how much they mean to me and know that if something's wrong or different to ask me first before doing something and won't take advice off anyone else except yo.
Makes me sound like a horrible daughter but I wouldn't go around messing about with their things especially if I didn't know what I was doing.
Mutual respect. Simple
