Well I'm going to meet Dash the whippet on Sunday and introduce him to our two existing dogs. What is the best way to go about this? I've already said I want them to meet on neutral territory but do I let them sniff noses on lead first or let them run together free
Oscar will dive in feet first and say HI with lots of wags and bounce - poss intimidating as he is big. Susie will tell the lowly pup to get stuffed she is too posh to speak to the likes of him (probably with a growl and an 'air snap') but will unbend if he is friendly but not too full-on.
I think involving toys initially would be a mistake as Susie can be possesive and apparently so can Dash. He is 15 months, neutered, well socialised and kind of mid range on the dominance scale according to the fosterer.
Also what questions do I need to ask? I've got a list but don't want to miss anything off, its 9 years since I adopted a rescue dog!
