I have a 2 year old jrt boy, he's neutered and was house clean for the last 20 months or so, he house trained the first time really easily and quickly, went from p pads in playpen to by back door/dog flap and then just started going outside, perfect we thought. but then my mom got a border terrorist (yes he really is!) who has again house trained perfectly easily, using the same method.
however, i have to look after my mom's dog from time to time, and all seems perfect in the house, they all get on very well and play together nicely, even my 13 year old collie joins in. they all use the dog flap and go in and out all day and night happily. BUT, and a huge but, the JRT has started peeing on my rug and mat by the back door(its a turtle mat to stop the wet paws thank goodness so rubber backed) I dont have carpets just wood flooring so there's nothing to encourage doggie smells. i've now removed the rug in the lounge but the mat has to stay by the dog flap to stop them slipping when going in and out, especially my old collie, bless her.
any one any ideas - PLEASE !!! i'm at my wits end what else i can do, i've gone back to using p pads by the dog flap but cant get him to go outside
