Not sure if this is a thread for NL but not quite sure where to put it :/
Anyway, there is a horse down the road from me that has been in this field for atleast 3 years with no apparent care etc.. but have never been close enough to it to see what condition it's in, until today. I know the RSPCA or equivalent have been called to this horse a few times and I now know why. She was standing by the gate today as I was driving past so I had to stop as she had the look of "Please give me attention" on her face
. I must have spent 2 mins with her and couldn't cope with anymore. She was so friendly but very underweight, mane and tail incredibly long and tangled, some hooves are short but splayed but one of her front hooes really worried me as it was starting to grow/curl upwards and was twisted. I want to take her home but I know I can't which is tearing me up inside. I could stroke her all down her neck, face and ears and she mustn't have been handled in years. She is a thoroughbred btw. I don't know what to do.
I know that the rescue centres haven't taken her when they have been called out before as she has shelter, grass and water (in a huge moorland type field with a wood in the middle and a stream running through it.)
But, what would you do? Or any advice?
