help with a course question!

Just wondering if anyone can help me with a coursework question- im doing a section about canine first aid just now and have been answering questions about normal body temperature etc, but am stuck on a question which asks-
"why might a dog with a high temperature alter its posture(lying flat out for example)?"
Can anyone shed any light on this?
