Any ideas anyone:
Our five year old, neutered German Shepherd has been leaking a bit of urine. We have seen him do this twice, both times when standing/walking, very small amounts (3-4 drops). Otherwise he urinates as normal, no straining, no smell or changed colour to his urine. If anything he urinates very large amounts. He may have leaked on other occassions but we have 4 dogs so we have two confirmed times for sure.
The vet has checked his urine twice and found nothing abnormal, then recommended Propalin, but as this is for incontinence which seems to me to have completely different symptoms (leaking large amounts, mainly at rest, mainly affecting elderly bitches), we insisted on a blood test (vets were very reluctant
!).
When they tried to take blood they found it very difficult, his blood was extremely thick and the vet ended up having to use a massive needle to get a very small amount. Results are due towards the end of the week (when we will insist on a specialist referral).
The dog is otherwise perfectly fine in himself, active, friendly, alert, etc.
Any ideas what to expect?
